Can we hold a meeting with the police regarding the mods that are allow?

It would probably be much more accurate to get the rules and adr's in writing, otherwise the poor cops are going to have to know all the rules and regs off the top of their heads. I recently spoke to the engineers who did my brakes, and even they couldnt give me a definite answer as to wether a planned mod will be legal as they need to see it and how its been done to be able to tell me that.

If we can get hold of all the rules in writing and make them available to everyone, that would be a pretty good idea, might have to make some calls to qld transport.

Specifically for Queensland: Queensland Transport publish a booklet called Modifications. It can be picked up for free at any Queensland Transport customer service centre. It covers the basics if used with intelligence, however doesn't mention pod filters. They also have a website

Being English, and living in England until I was 24 I was brought up to see Police as people I could turn to for help if needed, and, as I have never had any bad experiences with police in my 39 years in Aust I tried to bring my boys up with the same belief.

I've had my Skyline since Oct 2001 and have never been stopped by police.

My son Mick has had his for 8 months and being stopped for no particular reason is a regularly occurring fact of life and he now sees police officers as being rude, overbearing, bullying, threatening and ignorant persons who should be avoided at all cost.

My point is I believe that young people driving Skylines and similar, modded or not are a targeted group and subjected to very different police behavior and attitudes than the average driver, I would not advise anyone in this group to take their Skyline anywhere near the police for any reason unless their life depended on it

agreed fully with you there 51jay,its not advisable to take any modded car or any nice car near police,as its most likely to get targeted as a hoon or racer etc..

its a shame what it has come down to...everyone being put on the same level as,most idiots who are reckless etc and are the real hoons..

So what about we get a full copy of the ADR's and before we hold a discussion with the cops (who will be all friendly & sweet-mouthed and encourage us to aspire to them), how about we have a cruise day where we stop by some engineer (who we all chip in and pay) and maybe they can give us general info (like boxed pods are ok compared to open pods or whatever) - then they can spend 5-10mins looking at each car just to see if we should get one or we are fine .

Wouldn't cost much money or time for us all and most (hopefully) of us will find out we are in the ok (and will have ADR sections to prove it), and those who are recommended to get one could all book (and maybe get group club discount).

my 2 c worth at least
