Just woundering what month in 93 did the GTR's come out with the r33 GTR crank and gear box?

Also the n1 block in a standard 94 r32gtr v spec 2 is that the r33 N1 series block??

Cheers

  • The transition to the pull style clutch setup was in the Feb 1993

  • The R32 RB26 also use only one casting (the N1 blocks are only different in the R33 & R34 ranges)

I am unsure of the crank situation, all that the Nissan fast software shows is that entire R32 GTR range was released with the 12200-05U02 however it supersedes to the R33 item which is a 12200-05U03.

  • The R32 RB26 only ever came out with one crankshaft
  • The R32 RB26 also use only one casting (the N1 blocks are only different in the R33 & R34 ranges)

are your sure about that? I'm fairly certain mid-93 onwards RB26 are essentially R33 spec (larger oil pump drive etc). Also There is just 1 type of N1 block as far as I know.

i can assure you that the 93 (late) GTR's come with a r33 crank. Why cause i am currently rebuilding my engine and it has factory pistons rods crank (and bore) but its the r33 crank.

Also v spec 2 came out with an n1 engine. So i assume its the r33 n1 engine as it came out in 94

Thanks for the info on the month they came out in them.

Cheers

hmmm, thanks for the input.

But yeah i do have the r33 crank, and to tell you the truth, i dont know how the earlie r32 gtr's keep running. There is almost no contact area for the oil pump.
