Rebuilding Hks Suspension?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, the Aussie conditions have taken their toll on my HKS Hypermax II front coilovers and i'm wondering if there's anywhere in Melbourne that rebuild them? Or interstate if need be (saw a post ages ago that said a place in queensland rebuilds them)?

The top oil seals have been leaking from dirt rubbing away in them so they're getting really squelchy (one side more thatn the other) and are pretty much f**ked.

Does anyone know of any places preferably in Melbourne (and western side) that are able to rebuild Jab suspensions to a decent quality? I'd rather not have to shell out for a full new set.

Alternatively, anyone want to sell me some passable stock front suspension for under $100 for in the mean time?

Thanks

Ghost from the past

Give 'TruTrack' a call mate, the guys there might be able to put you on the right path.

Forget their number, but yellow pages should do the trick.

I had a place on Mt Alexander road 'attempt' to rebuild my items a few years back, failed in 6 months, needless to say i wont go there again :ermm:

Zac at TruTrack was real helpful but would still have had to send them away to be done. Thanks for the help mate.

I found a place local though that was able to rebuild them for under a couple of hundred $$$ because the shafts were still in great condition and only needed new seals/oil/gas.

Leslie & Sons Shock Absorders (need to look them up in the white pages) was the place and i haven't had any problems with them yet. They were also able to soften them up a bit which was much needed. At this stage i'd recommend them because there doesn't seem to be any other options in Melbourne and looks like they've done a good job.

Thanks

^^ yeah most of these guys send em north to shocker reco in qld and they are fkn average to say the least had 3 sets done myself and athid a mate of mine had a set done and all have failed 6-12mths down the track.. i bet thats where R31NISMOIDS ended up.

Best bet ive found is to use Motocycle suspension specialists as they actually give a shit and know what they are doing, a bad setup on a bike doesnt annoy you it tends to kill you  they can get shafts hard chromed and titanium nitrated too (anti stiction coating).
