yeah, at then end of the day its the stopwatch thats the judge.

nice videos. man shes abit louder now hehe also, i was studding the gearchangng. is there a revcut? also do you find going from 1st to second way harsher than anything else? (just getting to know mine now lol.) mayby its abit worn, but damn it sounds and feels like the diffs gonna come out of it when hitting first to second, not to mension the amount of force needed to push it in.

you guys use a shortshifter?

more superlap madness - Saurus R32 GTR at Tsukuba. probably a bit more like what Giant's car will be like than the all carbon fibre HKS Evo - that was pretty extreme!

OMG that sounds incredible

Awesome videos and time Russel.

All the very best in Jap.

Russell, can you post the specs of those wicked Ray rims? Did you have to do any modifications to fit the rims and tyres combo?

I use similar gears through the track as well...just at a lot slower speed than you guys :(

thanks for the support mate!! it is much appreciated! and really hope we get a good run at it and can show what the aussies can do!!

hey mate (9krpm) there the TE37's 18 X 10 1/2 ( I THINK + 22 OFFSET) and they fitted straight on!

our guards have been rolled before we got the car , i think they would touch otherwise also the negative camber front and rear helps tuck them inside the guard , but they dont rub at all. (they were bronze and we painted them black and had new decals made.

cheers russ

went out on for a quick test at qr today!

to check the belt alignment and an idler pulley setup we made to stop belt flap! all good

Mark managed a new PB on the clubman of 56.06 so really happy with that!!

hey russ,

to me, it doesnt matter where you finish. as long as you do, youve done more than most.

now, thats not to say you cant achieve more!!

the most important thing for me, personally, is that you are coming out here with the team and that fine machine you have built and are going to show everyone what it can do.

im proud of you just for that if it counts for anything...and thats before it even turns a wheel in anger...

lap times are important.

More important is the fact that you were here and were granted an opportunity to mix it with the best on their own turf and can no doubt hold your head up high.

Thats priceless my friend. ill be there with bells on. You can count on it.

Adam

I would have to work out the speeds for our gearing with what wheels were on it...but i normally hold fourth through turn 1 and 2....hitting about 220-230 down the front straight(in 5th) and just float between brake and accel between 1 and 2 and then depending on track into third or keep going and into 5th for national.

You guys must be going soon, or atleast the car being sent over. Good luck with it all mate, im sure you two are going to flog em!

i normally change gears twice per lap - lol

in 4th down front strait - go around 1 and 2 in 4th

then jump into 3rd before turn 3 - then go through the 2 S's and around the last corner in 3rd

and then into forth on the front stait again...

use to experiment with 2nd but yeah

3rd always seemed faster...

probably due to crap tyres and turbo pulls quite well in 3rd so yeah

PS goodluck in Japan and remember: HAVE FUN!! (that is after all what its all about!)

56 around the Clubman circuit is a Porsche bashing time and well into Sports Sedan territory, great work. Are you going to test at Morgan Park? Some different to QR corners there may help setup?

Anyway, best of luck in Nippon :)

thanks for the luck for Japan

We will be testing at wakefield park next week then straight in a container japan bound that weekend, so hopefully all goes well!

wakefield should really help us with setup with it's mix of corners (weather permitting)

cheers russ

what sort of lap time are you aiming for guys? Or just taking it as it comes?

umm well we are hoping for something around 57 or under, but not really sure.

the mines gtr r34 does 57's i think so something around there or under would be fantastic and a top 10 finish.

anything under a 60 will be pretty awesome. but always good to set the bar high. what date is nismo festival? I'm going to try and get a week off and head over. :)

these are the UK car's going over to compete aswell.

Get us one back from the rugby russ and smash them poms! :)

hey guys

BB i thought the race was on the 5th and 4th for practice but after reading the link shane put up(thanks shane top stuff!!) looks like it's on the 6th, i will be confirming tomorrow.

and your right Richard anything under 60 seconds will be awsome! :O

good to hear you will be there.

cheers russ

    • 49719 is the cooler loop. Right at the front, LHS of that diagram. Return line from rack (LP side) goes to cooler loop on RHS front of car, then back under engine and returns to bottom of tank. 49717M is feed from tank to pump. HP line out of pump is thick rubber, followed by the hard line that runs down to crossmember and runs in parallel (but opposite flow direction) to the LP return line. Nothing goes anywhere near the firewall or interior of car. The closest they get to that is the connections on the rack.
    • Thanks, plan is to drain all fluid tomorrow and do smoke test to find out the leak.   Appreciate your help and want to understand how the system work. So cooling is achieved by the long loop not any rad? The diagram seems to suggest it connects to somewhere inside the cabin and I thought that is a cooler inside firewall. If you look at the diagram it seems to show it connects to something inside firewall. I tried chasing it but not easy unless I take loads off   i am confident pump is good as fluid goes in and it gets soft( steering) but as soon as I turn engine off , loads of bubble come to surface and overflow. When engine is on , fluid level is below minimum but when off it shoots off and thinking it is sucking air in. I suspect aluminium pipe may have a crack line or whole   smoke test with no fluid should be a good start and if needed will remove the pump   In addition, the one going under the engine bay is high pressure line and one directly connecting from pump to resorvoir is return/ low pressure?   finally I searched and suggestion is to use dexron 2 but that is discontinued so bought dexron 3 as all research suggest it is compatible and shouldn’t cause any issues/ blow seals. I bought two liter of dexron 3 motul atf
    • Don't worry about. Just don't try to drive hard enough to make boost and you'll be fine.
    • Yes. This has already been said. It is a loop of hardline in front of the radiator. Because.... the pump is on the LHS and the steering rack hydraulic connections are where they always are on a RHD steering rack....on the RHS. The high pressure line goes down under the engine, along the crossmember, like it does on all Skylines. Don't just throw expensive braided hoses/other kits at it. Work out what is wrong and fix that.
    • Still got the afm on the intake, clamps are shut tight, only loose hose is the one that goes from the j pipe towards the IACV, since it's next to impossible to find a factory hose and the barbs are different sizes (I'm still using clamps on this hose to try and help it seal on the iacv side) I've ordered parts to make up the hotside of the intercooler pipes, I'll plumb it in and see what happens in a few days I suppose The turbo's internally gated, can I just unscrew the tension rod to let the gate open?
