R34 Tiptroninc Transmission Problem

Hey guys,

Ive got a R34 sedan non turbo and Ive notice recently when I use tiptronic. 1st and 2nd gear are fine, when i accelerate rev is good but when I change gear to 3rd and rpm is @ 4-5k it will rev up as its accelerates then drops back to 3k after a sec. and car doesnt pull as much as when initially chaged to 3rd, then slowly accelerates.

its a bit hard to explain its better if i can get a sound file it would be easier..... the pattern when accelerating and changing gear is very noticeable.

It wasnt like this before, and I dont know why its happening. Does anyone had this problem beforE?

It might be going into limp mode ............ just make sure everything thing is plugged in

take it to a transmission specialist to get it looked at immediately so as to not do any further possible damage inside. sounds like an internal problem

It's slipping. First thing to do is check the level of fluid. It's quite likely lost some and will get better when you top it up. Failing that it's pretty much on it's way out so look forward to replacing it at some stage.

oh no this sounds bad, I checked the fluid and its ok.... I guess i have to bring it to a transmission specialist to have a look at it.

yeah I thought its internal aswell, hopefully its not too late.

I can't imagine a second hand one will cost much. I reckon they would be just about throwing them away. Labour will cost a few $ though.
