Got abit of an issue where my car has like a belt squeeking noise from start up, when it first started first 50 secs of start up no noise then it would start. Cant be noticed when driving but when goin slow or at idle is always there.... i dont think its a belt......seems like it coming from the alternator......is this a sign the alternator is on its way? has got louder more noticable over last 5 months.......

i initially thought it was the aircon pulley bearings..... but since it got more noticable seems like alternator....... do alternaters make squeeking noises when there on there way??? is there something in the alternator that needs replacing???

take the belts of one at a time until the sqeek stops, the last one you removed is the noisey pully. should be alright to run your car for a couple of seconds without and altenator/waterpump belt just to see if its the sqeeking one.

Alternator or Power Steering pump bearing. I have the same issue on my missus CRX. We had both replaced and it now looks like the issue is the crank shaft bearing. So we will have to pay for a full timing belt change basically :-(
