a lot more than i thought would be available, and this is only carsales.com.au - i can't remember the other car sites.

I thought the prices were quite interesting, generally a lot cheaper than i thought the would be, which doesn't bother me as i'd be looking to upgrade in a few years :D

so there's quite a choice locally. But import if you're after something specific

Gohan: thanks for the list, yea there's a lot of selection. i've seen everyone of those on carsale.com as you've listed. the $49k one looks a bit hmm... with that low mileage. well yea i'm actually looking for a black one but none is listed and after calling svi(import company), they did a search on the auction and the price of a black one is around $65k to get it imported here and for a blue 1 is around $52k both v-spec. i guess the black one is too pricey.

Hi,

Yeah it is my car. Sold my GTT last week. Wheels are BBS :)

Brandon, be careful with car sales. when you look through ad's, read their description carefully as some will be non v-specs. Carsales.com.au doesn't allow you to put the regular model so you'll find that most of them are v-specs. This is something I copped after calling the owners of some nice ones. On a side note, Drew from Northfield Carsound at Moorooka is selling his GTR V-Spec. I don't think he's advertised it but he is looking at selling it. Might be worthwhile having a look at it.

Damien

sooooo many hot 34's!!! i've seen prestige and j-spec have a few of these guys cars on their mailing lists. You can tell by that same low rock wall in the background ;)

mind if i ask how much? So did you have to organise all the shipping, importing, etc, yourself??

yeah, choyda's right, i noticed some aren't actually V-Spec's. The grey one in Moorabbin, VIC is a NON v-spec, but listed as V-Spec II, so be mindful of that...

I won't say how much all up since I actually bought it off someone who was importing it for themselves and was willing to sell before it landed here.

But basically, the importer who brought it over uses global auto a lot. He says they are one of the more reliable groups, they don't buy accident cars and do really thorough checks. Accordingly, they arent the cheapest and most of them are modded.

Either way, the importer organises another check of the car in japan, more photos, shipping, compliancing and registration. Again, there is still the risk of the car coming here and not making it through compliance (it is rare but still should be considered) and the car will have to be purchased by the buyer rather than the importer first.

If you want more info, please pm

Choyda: I was speaking to SVI in Brisbane yesterday and they told me the compliancy wouldnt be a problem because they have a money back gurantee for it. I guess I'll wait for 35gtr to be out and see hows the pricing like, since it not gonna be too long till they release it.

The top one isnt a v-spec...

Hey dude,

i just purchsed a 34GTR exactly 2 weeks ago now. If you want my advice, take your time, dont rush into any purchase and make sure u get it checked out properly. Also the main thing is condition i say, i spent 3 months looking for mine and it was only by chance i found a Midnight purple 2 vspec in awesome condition. I had a look at heaps and most were rough, so yeh dont settle for anything just wait till u find the right one, after all it is a lot of money. Secondly make sure u dont get tricked into believing its a v-spec, do ur research and get the vin/chassis numbers checked out to ensure its a genuine v-spec. a lot of guys try making it look like one to sell it easier and for a higher price. other then that the usual, make sure its got no rust and hasnt been in a major accident.

Price wise, i believe if u are chasing a vspec, then u need to budget at least 65-70k for a good 99-00 model in awesome condition. if u cant afford that then id say wait till u can.

I think this is a bad idea, as no one really knows how the new GTR will take off!!! i mean i believe it will be way too expensive for most people, and probably wont be available in AUS for a while.. all rumours for now but i honestly think that the new GTR wont be a big hit and in saying this the price of the 34GTR will either go up or stay as it is for a while. Take the 34 GTT as an example, when the 350gt came out it wasnt a big hit and the price of the r34GTT stayed the same and actually went up for a little while because of the the demand.

anyways thats my 2c

Pyrmont, NSW

nice, clean, stock car

That one's not for sale anymore... It's in my garage! I bought it 3 weeks ago or so now :D As for the question, I'd agree to finding one in Aus, there are already many here and I don't believe in buying a car without driving it first... Or even seeing it! That's just odd to me but each to their own, i have also heard some very happy stories from importer buyers so whatever floats your boat :spank: As for the expense of them, it is true they always cost more than anticipated but so do most things in life!! The petrol was the shocker for me, I've checked out others Litre:Km ratios and picked some peoples brains as I drive mostly Grandma Spec so I think she may have an issue somewhere, starting diagnostics next week lol

Oh and the majority of those GTR adverts posted from carsales aren't V spec's... The trouble is that carsales only has V Spec setting when posting an R34 GTR so all R34 GTR's on carsales are advertised as vspec's... So make sure you ask! And make damn sure they're not trying to pull wool over your eyes! I flew all the way from Gold Coast to Melbourne to pick up a 32 GTR V Spec II, asked the seller on the phone if it was definately a V Spec II and he said yes yes of course... Got there and he says to me "Oh, we sold that specific V Spec II 3 weeks ago, but here is one exactly the same!" And points to an 89 32 GTR that had seen better days... And still wanted the same price for that one as the V Spec II! Grrr the disadvantages to being a chick, boys think we know nothing!! But worked out for the best anyway as the next day I flew to Sydney and picked up the stunner posted above :woot:

Anyway, end rant, didn't mean to hijack... Good luck with your search, they are stunning cars and such pride to own, remembering my past rides, I may change my mind about that statement once I start serious modding lol But all good, we'll sort her out...

If you go once again to link of the advert for my car, those guys generally have a few 34 GTR's for sale, one sells, another one comes in, so hit them up, I can't complain about my experience buying from them at all... They were great and the car's in FANTASTIC condition!! Couldn't be happier...

Good luck to you!!

Alicia xx

yeah, i did reiterate somewhere that not all are V-Specs, and to be mindful when looking at the ads.

Nice pick up Alicia! You can see i even went to the trouble of adding the extra little note to that listing :P Great price too

mass iv: nono... you all got me wrong. what i meant was to wait for 35gtr to be released hoping the price of 34gtr will drop slight.

Alicia: There's not really a lot to choose from in the list on carsale. I'm actually after a black 1. but like mass said I'll probably take my time and do some research. its a lot of money after all. it'll be a no regret car for sure once i get it. congratz on the new gtr =)

godzla: Yea thats a nice one for that price, pretty decent too. But I'll be getting it probably in March next year so, hopefully there's something good in the market for me at that time. Thanks for the reference.

I'll probably be going with SVI if I'm importing it since I'm in Brisbane, and communication is simpler that way. I seems like theres very few people from Brisbane that drives a performance vehicle as compared to the other 2 major cities, Sydney/Melbourne. BTW, anyone have any idea how much the gtr brembo brake pads cost these days?

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/ip...de%2520matchany

This guy seems to be an importer eh? lolz. There's a bayside blue 1 now, and the price's good too. I've just called him and seems like he's got a couple of GTRs in stock but the blue one on carsale's not a v spec.

yeah, just be careful with the brake pads. I "think" from memory, the compliance workshop has to deem there is 50% or more left on the pads, if not, you need new pads. Not much of an issue for a GT-T, but very $$$$$ if it's a GTR.

But i'm sure any import broker who knows what's happening will be aware of that
