Car Running Rich

Just have question..Car is R32 GTR , PFC, cams, turbo ....and is running rich i think anyway, just wanted to know what damage can be done to the engine?? rings??

or just get a re tune?

if its only short term mate then it will just foul up your plugs

oh ok yeah its been few months now, replaced plugs cos had a misfire.. then replaced o2 sensor;s as well....think have to re tune

I reckon most of the cars on the street who have upgraded exhaust and cooling would be running rich if they havent had some sort of tune. Don't think it should be a problem

how do u know its running rich?

if u smell it when cold start, every car will do that until the O2 is heated up properly which takes some time.

when you flaw it? black smoke? just a tune to help reduce it...just dumping bit more fuel...i wouldnt stress at all.

Running rich not only covers the spark plugs in carbon deposits but can also do the same to your cat. It's bad for your car, bad for performance, bad for the environment (sorry to be a greenie man).

When you get a chance i'd get a retune.

From what i hear, when you free up the RB's, IE intake and exhaust, the extra airflow etc makes the ECU run rich as a safe measure? And u just need an aftermarket ECU to tune it nicely.

adds fuel to the engine oil, which isn't great for bearings

and can strip the oil film off the cylinder walls in extreme cases, leaving the walls liable to scuffing
