FVKA#@$@# I am pissed off! I tried to buy another PS3 this weekend (60gb) and can't farkin find one anywhere. this is bullshit.

for $959 you got:

4usb ports

card readers

PS2 compatibility

extra controller ($80)

2 games ($90 each)

60gb hd

now for $700 you get

2 usb ports

no card reader

no ps3 compatibility

no extra controller

no games

40gb HD

is that worth the $260 saving? no fking way. the games and controller are worth the $260 straight away. Then add PS2 compatibility, bigger HD and card reader and you realise what good value the 60gb PS3 was.

so the question goes out, does anyone know a store that has a 60gb PS3 in stock?!?! please help!!!

I didnt realise the 60gb model was so rare. Im glad I have mine. Not a bad deal when you add up what you actually get out of it. Ill check over at EB today on my lunch break and see if they have any in stock.

Went over at lunch and they didnt have any in stock either....

dual shock controller will be kick ass. it's a shame they didn't have one from the begining. question though, will current games be compatible with it?

When it first came out, sony lost the contract with rumble pack or something. Thats why it didn't have it.

The myers dude told me when ps3 came out. Cause i was like :S lite control!

yeah not many on ebay, if you can find one in a store (which I doubt) they are $999. recently they were $959 inc 2 games and an extra controller. that was the time to buy, but sadly those days are over, and it seems that we will be without the 60gb model for a while to come.

is there any issues with buying an 80gig HK version?

any solid info on whether there is any issues with playing games or online?

there's some on ebay for about $720 delivered with extra controller and game and they are saying 2days delivery also.

the only problem with buying an OS model is:

can't play aussie dvds and most likely BDs in the future

can't play aussie ps2 games

that's about it.

no problem (for now) playing aussie PS3 games. and no problem using it on-line either.

Anyone got their player there?

Just curious where PS3 are being made these days.

China?

or Japan?

My ps2. First model out, got it for about 1099, extra controller + 2 games lol.

So long ago.

Made in Japan, was gonna switch slimline but china.

So no point.

most PS3 are made in china. pretty much only the japanese retailed ones are made in japan. I bought mine in november last year in japan and it was made in japan, but the aussie ones are made in china.

yes, I still have my first gen PS2 too, made in china cost me $900 back in the day! ouch!

It was dropped because sony were too pig headed to pay immersion for use of rumble technology.

But sony's official spin was that the six-axis wouldn't function with rumble at the same time, and that rumble was a "last gen" feature.

Now they have 180'd and are releasing the dual shock 3.

Anyone in aus able to change over the HDD yet, not that i need it but it would be good to know

2 ways to change the HDD, one buy a laptop HDD and its a direct swap to the one in the ps3 or else you can buy a cable which allows you to use a normal HDD
