No the old ps3's with backwards compatiblity upscaled games to 1080P. Some games look absolutely fantastic doing it.

And now you can't because you can only get the 40gig model.

I have played killzone upscaled on my ps3 and it isnt too bad.

hmm most amplifiers these days upscale to 1080p anyways... is it a vector upscale by the PS3, or a regular render that's just interpolated by the PS3?
