Just wondering how you can get a bigger battery and keep the positive terminal stock. Ive had to totally replace it and modify it as the metal base of most of aftermarket wire and terminal clamps are not bent like the skyline one. Hope you guys know what I mean. I basically want it to look like the pic below with a bigger battery.

Can you get a better picture? I can't see much from the one in your post... Don't have a skyline myself (I drive a Z32) but I change maybe 5000 batteries a year and maybe 1000 terminals for work so might be able to help you out.

I looked up the AC Delco catalogue for a suitable battery within the size and terminal post requirements I was looking for.

There are plenty of other brands available but a Delco was fine for my requirements at the time and cheap.

Looking at the catalogue, I ended up with a S55B24L (page 68 of the catalogue). 430CCA and had the same terminal size and location as the Jap batteries. Cost me $90, and no alteration to the terminals required.
