Which day for the track day? No dates yet. Tickets would be around the 150 to 155 mark with these numbers.

It seems like the NSW vs VIC track day went well why dont we take on anther forum?

Like a supra forum?

its just a thought and could be quite interesting to see how the supras come up agains the skylines.

Prices would be around the $150 to $155 mark with the numbers listed in the pole.

Vote for more that one option if it suits you!

Any comments?

Cheers,

Keith

I might give wakefield a call and see how much it would cost us to get the day timed.

Or do we think it would be better not timed?

I know we have to pay for other things aswell when we get it timed.

for timed days you'll end up paying around 155 each i think.

Thats the normal entry, plus the hire and use of the timing gear

I was thinking about buying a laptop and some timing gear (just basic stuff but would be plenty good enough) and I would be happy to lend it out, pending I get it buy then

Just attended the Ferrari track day with timing and it was a well run event. I did invite anyone but no one showed any interest.

Cost was 150 members or 175 non members. To break even they said they needed about 40 entrants. I had no problems with cars slowing me up and everyone was very considerate of each other.

This was run with Wakefield licences so possibly only with Wakefield insurance.

Just getting 20 people from the skyline group would be very hard. We were lucky to get 10 at the dyno day prepaid (thanks to Frink). We ended up with 18 people in the end, but the majority were not skylines.

^^ yeah mate new about this one. Engine is still in the build, another few weeks and i shall be running her in :)

Regards to the timming gear and laptop, that would be sweet. And i am sure we could all swing a little money for the loan of it.

i would've loved to have gone! i wish i'd had known about it. i dont have the net at home, so i can only check the forums at work... :P

i'd be happy to pay that kind of cost. but its something that i think needs a date sometime into future, like Feb or March. you cant organise these events on short notice. also may be a good idea to invite some of the SAU NSW people to make up numbers....

Well I found out about it the day I posted. I was a guest and seeing as I had nothing to do with the running or organising and did not know what the day would be like, I was not going to make it a big thing and gets lot of people attending due to this.

I hope I made a good impression for next time and I've asked to be on the invite list for next time.

Hey Frink, can you PM me some info on some street legal track tyres for the standard GTR rims, and what PSI to use around the track. I was more worried about wearing through the sidewalls than the tread at 34psi.

Sounds like the way to go,

Got onto wakefield, we cant get timed unless we book the track.

But i agree we need to set this one a few months after christmas so we can get good numbers from both the supra club and us.

PS, how many cars would it time???

    • hahaha @joshuaho96 the most action it gets is when I have to drive from West to SE VIC to meet the fam. Even then, it;s on highway cruising speeds
    • don't know anyone in this thread, but i just found it, read the entire thing in a few hours, realized greg is still posting progress, and just have to say, this is awesome. it looks awesome. 100% right about the Uras kit making it a pain to get on hoists...have the same kit on my 34 and it takes six 2x4s and race ramps to do it without taking parts off. this reminds me exactly of this thread. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/build-projects-and-project-cars/r63-amg-the-unicorn-of-my-destruction/110824/page8/
    • The only way to make that better is to weld on some bozozoku tips up past window height and roll with the cool kids.
    • I'd want an even MORE side on view. More or less you want to make sure the outlet is actually square with the outermost part of the bumper. Or you end up getting soot all over your bumper from your hektik exhaust. In any case, it looks pretty close. I think the way to fix this is probably more of an overhaul at an exhaust specialty shop if you want tips that are rounded off or sit nicely with the bumper but have proper clearance and don't move - Probably more of a redesign than a quick fix. I've pencilled in my own exhaust with its own various problems, pinholes, PITA fitment, and other issues and can see myself going to a shop and saying "JUST DO THIS BUT BETTER?"  Which is gonna work better than any more small fixes. I'm gonna chime in here officially with "from an outsider perspective this exhaust looks fine so this is self OCD probably" (which I also suffer from)
