Which day for the track day? No dates yet. Tickets would be around the 150 to 155 mark with these numbers.

Update on the Skyline V Supra track day.

This has been sometime in the planning and it has not been the easiest thing to get going, so I’ll let you in on the current status. I’m taking holidays soon so nothing will get looked at until March now.

In short this will not happen in the March/April time period I had hoped, due to supplier issues. I am still hoping to offer a track day in the future. However all is not lost as the Skyline boys are very keen on running a Dyno day at ESP in early March (see ACT Skyline forum)

The reasons for the delay in running the track day are listed below:

Some of the current facts:

• With the increased price at Wakefield it would be unprofitable to run the day on a weekend.

• It will costs approx $6000 to run a day like the one we want.

• Every Friday was booked for the next 3 months, only one Monday was available in the same time period.

• There is a $500 non refundable deposit on a booking. I can’t offer a fixed date without a booking. As per above

• No supplier has been able to provide/confirm a total package that only costs $150 a head with between 40 and 60 entrants.

• Each supplier would like to receive a prepayment of the full amount before running a day like this.

I could run the day myself risking the entry fee etc, but if I did I would obviously want to receive the profits (if any) of the day (my money, my risk, my profits) But having a professional place run the day would encourage more people to attend and the idea was to give the clubs the ability to receive any profits made from the day.

I’ve been offered a session for approx $165 a head but 35 cars only. All payment would have to be upfront before I could set a date. This clearly will not work, people have lives.

Lame...

"I've been offered a session for approx $165 a head but 35 cars only." I am in  lol

Now autosports have a weekend at wakefield, maybe its easier to get asmany people there as posible.

Do thye have official timing?

Yes, its pretty full on though, they seem to have too many cars there (60 I think)

I'd be all for only having 35 cars and having to pay extra, but is that with timing?

Specs on the 26/30? :banana::(

I wont put them all up but here's the rough idea:

26 head (well, duh)

rb30 bottom

forged rods

cp pistons

jun oil pump

tomei restrictor

r33 gtr n1 balancer

crank collar

sump baffles

cam baffles

gt42r (Slide built)

44mm gate

screamer

8.6:1 CR

With 23psi i should see a fu(kload of power and the 3L means nice down low drivability when tuned up :)

Yours is the stock height black one?

I was there watching you go round, your supra sounds really nice! What exhaust has it got?

yeah, I think I was probably talking to you on the day? Its got a JASMA system, but the front section including cat has been replaced since it arrived in Aus, presumably for compliancing. The Jasma muffler kind of fell to peices last weekend at QR anyway - all the stainless steel wool packing came shooting out of it on the track, and there's still some strands hanging out the tailpipe now... strangely it didn't get any louder!

I'll still be in for $165.00, but I dont like the idea of a set date after Ive paid, what if I cant get time off work?

if its far enough in advance, like july or something, that shouldn't be a problem would it???

Nah i didnt come over, but i did enjoy listening to it

Thats strange it didnt get louder!

Is it stock boost etc?

yeah, stock everything apart from pod, exhaust and jap spec Tein Super Street coilovers. Ran a 1:16.4 in the wet which I was fairly happy with for my first time there, and first time with the Supra on the track. Would like to go back there with a dry track. Trying to get my act together for their next day in March, but I want to bring my Datto track car down for that.

I was talking to someone from SAU down there who was thinking about buying a Supra, but I'm hopeless with names!

Upcoming Events

Date Cost Name Location

15-Mar-2008 $160.00 AUTOsports @ Wakefield Wakefield Park Raceway

And thats for 60 cars...

If we had less cars get more track time and its only 5 dollars more.

The only way to do it would be find a date that the track is free, get payment within a week and if its booked by then refund all money. (the date would have to be a fair while in the future...)

I would pay 165.

    • Also sorry to hear this @DanielStone - I remember @SmoothLine well, he was around for a very long time and was one of the original members of this site.  God Speed Matt. Thoughts with his family and friends.
    • Nice car! Looking at your GTS; makes me wonder why I bought a GTS-t... Everything has been changed anyway. I should have just started with a non turbo model.
    • Rear doors central locking wiring removed and cleaned. See the first 8sec video of when it’s filled with river silt. its a snip of what I’m up against. front and rear doors complete now. Maybe another day removing carpet and bits and pieces. Then the re assembly begins. 🤙 att.DqweJqhY5MZiZYQDVMhn3LtvdD1RBZ7TBG4f2s7W1zM.mp4 att.lFuN22MZEowqCbFAXoDw009r2gHL76ChMVfxMfBX-uk.mp4
    • There aren't boost creep issues, it's not engineered around the restriction of the cats but if you haven't tuned the engine a full decat + exhaust can flow enough air to run off the end of the OEM load scales and you will get a pretty substantial reduction in ignition timing as a result. I recommend using DFCO, avoiding ignition cut limiters, and avoiding popcorn tunes along with running a cat unless you enjoy a perpetually soot-covered and potentially burnt bumper.
    • Small update, it's been slow moving over the Christmas period with money having to go everywhere thats not my car 😅. I got myself a little present to myself from "santa" in the form of some tidy radiator mounts from fitmint automotive to get rid of the stock ones that look like they have been in an accident before and then straightened by a caveman. I know I should've replaced the rubber bush at the same time but I had no idea how bad they were until I was replacing the mounts. Decided to order their dash mat while I was at it as I feel like I am lucky enough to have a pretty decent condition dash and I don't want to risk it being ruined while it's parked in the aussie sun while I'm at work. I have found another electrical fault to add to the evergrowing list to eventually chase down. Every time I replace my taillight globe it blows within a day of use, I'm starting to think my life would be easier if I took a few minutes to learn how to use  a multimeter 😂.   Had some luck with finding a series 2 drivers headlight on marketplace to replace my mismatched series 1 headlight, a subtle difference but it's nice to have a matching set of lights now.   I returned to the air con problem due to being sick of this summer heat, found a good condition condenser to replace my leaking one! I got it in the car and was happy when I got the thumbs up that the system was now holding gas. Sadly the compressor is not kicking in for some reason, we even tried branching the relay in the fuse box. I have tried to do some research on the issue with no clear understanding of what the fix is, so for now it will be placed on the backburner until I can be bothered to look into the wiring to the compressor. The last small mods I have done was cutting the horizontal vents out of the front bar, not really in a functional airflow sense but I just think it looks better as I am not a fan of the series 2 bar. I also switched the shift knob out for a hosoboyo aluminium grex style one, it has a really nice more direct driving feel than the outdated rubbery oem one. Thirdly, I chucked on one of the ebay bonnet strut kits. The fitment is decent and they seem to work fairly well. They have only given out once while the car was parked facing downhill, I think if I was working under the bonnet I would still put the oem hood stay up to be precautionary as to avoid getting a speedy concussion.
