Need Advice When Drilling Screws Into Body To Mount Side Skirts!

I have 20mm self drilling metal screws and i am trying the drill these through in to the body to mount side skirts at the rear of the skirt.I am having trouble drilling through the metal and i have a good drill and these screws seem to be struggling. I dont understand cos they are screws designed to go into metal but its just not penetrating???

please help. I have tried pre drilling with a drill bit but the metal is just fileing my bits. Damn tough metal.

ive had some of those screws that have been blunt - try them into other metal - same for the drill bits

not to be rude no nothing - not using the drill in reverse are you - my bro did that once heaps funny spent ages trying to get the screw to go in

why not just try drilling it with a slightly smaller drill bit, then screwing it in?

nah drills not in reverse. I might try a sharper screw as yes these ones are pretty blunt. Yes tried using a smaller drill bit but the metal is just screwing up all my bits. Must of picked the wrong place the start drilling.
