If my HKS Super Dragger came ith one, I dont think they are that bad (and mine is NOT a straight through resonaor)

yer.. its got that bulge doova.. now at least i know what it was.. the exhaust place where i took mine to be noise tested last week checked it thru, goes, "yup, yup, yup, you got one of those, those and those", "thats what you need for it to meet the requirements", but i neglected to actually ask him what the bulge was.

You also are not allowed any artificial restricters in there and the only legal silencers are those that are welded in. Some people know that, but for those that don't, dem the rules.

3" dump, highflow cat, HKS Super Dragger II combo is right on legal, measured just at 90db @ 5200rpm. With the stock airbox on it will be under. I don't even have to remove mine for the EPA test. Its a good exhaust combination if anybody looking for a nice legal exhaust with heaps of flow.

And you can fit kittens in the back end if you like as well :)

what u talkin about? u must be thinking of the post i made in the "will these rims fit" thread
me?
me?

bsa 180s look better powder coat them in gold

are you sure you didnt post something in here before about those wheels??

um well, i guess i can explain :alcoholic:

:)

but i thought that is the 2nd muffler?? not a resonator?

meh i'll check the rest of the pipes for one of those small doovas... cause i want to get rid of the big ugly black boxy thing.

If it is a resonator im leavin it in

from the engine it goes cat, resonator, muffler.

they all have different sizes and shapes between factory, and high flow.

the bigger the volume inside the resonator/muffler the quiter it is.

3 options: normal "oval" shape and straight through.

normal will have the in and out pipes not lined up, this is the quitest but least flowing. or they will line up but will be detoured inside the muffler.

straight has the pipes lines up for increased flow and performance and also smaller volumes for louder sound and i assume increased performance.

just take it out and see what it sounds like.

ive been looking for an exhaust for a while and i went and listened to one that had no resonator. it was still farken quite though cause he had std turbo and dump and 2.5 cat, plus the volume of the muffler was quite big. do if your car matches this description, or is close then it should be alright. but just give it a go and see what happens.

inark the cheapest way to do it is get under the car with a tape measure, and measure it between the welds of the resonator, but add about an extra 40mm either side, then goto your local exaust shop get a piece that length in 3" pipeing and get them to flare it out both ends to fit OVER 3" pipeing then take off your exaust at home cut the resonator off then put that peice in and weld it up :D

and thats how u do it for free (thats if the exaust place isnt a tightass and gives u that little peice for free)
