I herd that a new law is comming in so you can run 19s or 20s on a skyline so will this mean the clearance from center of the wheel to guard will change??????

Its always been 2 inches above what came on the car stock. So for a '32 gtr, max is 18", for a 33 gtr, 19" for a '34 gtr, 20".... whether or not the tyre/rim is suitable for your setup, I guess that depends on the car in question but from what I understand, the 18" is the most I can put on my GTR. Which suits me fine cause I think the r34 gtr rims are pimp. So if any of u guys with 34gtrs get 20's, I'll take yr old rims >:(

yeah it surprising hoew easy it is once you know how, i still gotta pull mine apart ans see why one has stopped working.

meh, ill add it to the 50 other things to do.

ha ha, someone just offered me 600 for my rims my reply was.......ROFLMO.......thats all i wrote.

god, next they will want them for free.

Yeah, everyone wants something for nothing!

I had some the sphincter of the universe offer me $500 for my GSXR race bike which I'm selling for $5000 (bargain as is). I simply replied: "Come back when mommy raises your allowance."

Tell him "Sure, I'm desperate. I'll take the $630." Then give him an address of a biker club. :(

Thats a popular response of mine too. They won't be so scabby next time.

ok i took my coilpack cover off....

started the car waited 20mins or so to hit full operating temp...

nothing...

so i drove it and still NOTHING

so i have come to the conclusion that it may be getting hot under the cover at full opp temp?

i guess i drive it with the cover off till my spitfires arrive.. is it ok to leave the cover off??

and i correct in saying that this was prob the problem?

cheers

    • Actually, ethanol has probably never been cheaper, on a tax free basis, than petrol. With fuel excise being what it is, and only being levied on the hydocarbon component, not the ethanol component, and ethanol for non-drinking purposes not being subject to liquor excise - E85 was cheaper, but not because the combustible liquid itself was particularly cheaper.
    • Maybe? If changing the cat to a higher flowing cat, caused the turbo to spool more quickly, and those areas of the map had not been tuned for the boost level it is now seeing, then yes you would need a re-tune. How dangerous it is running without the updated tune would depend on how far out the tune is with the now higher boost levels, how the engine protection has been setup, is the ECU compensating with a wideband sensor, is the boost control closed loop blah blah million other things... But yeah having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if changing out the cat for a high flow, in say a full 3" exhaust, made no noticeable difference at all.
    • Ah yep. I asked a auto electrician about getting a cheap rebuilt alternator vs a new one. He also said he used to it back in the day but it ended up costing similar to what a new one would and recommended getting a new one,.
    • Ah, to clarify if the car has already been tuned and has been modified and you want to go from a oem cat to a 100 cell or decat or vice versa. Are you saying that the car doesn't need to be tuned after a cat change if it's already been tuned?
    • This has been covered a bazillion times but google wet boiling point vs dry. Motul is only good when it's fresh, once it absorbs moisture it gets pretty average very quickly. So as above, make sure you change it if you're going racing. I run the Endless brake fluid in mind, but only because a mate is a distributor and it's cheap. It's not quite as good as SRF but I'm running 380mm rotors on a Skyline so it's not like they get hot.
