Edited: ah k cool i'll have to give em a call soon

how long does it take to re-tune/remap the ecu??

honestly, it depends on the equipment provided, the availability of the software for that particular hardware, at least a couple of hours to run the calibration and do the actual tune.... my initial tune cost something like $700-800, i honestly cant remember. it was done when i replaced faulty o2 sensors.... has been an absolute JOY to drive... hasnt got the KW numbers to impress dyno whores, but i really love this particular tune. it'll be better in 6 months when i get new cams and turbos, but i'm very happy with the tune. it gives me a perfect balance between performance and reliability... with the emphasis on reliability (as directed by yrs truly)....

I cannot recommend those guys enuff. They have leet skillz.

If you are going for a remap you would have to go to Jeff, he was one of the first in Australia to do remaps and he is definitely one of the best, and as for cost he'll be around the $500 mark but every tune is slightly different, and touch up tunes are a fifth of that

If you want proof of his work he was the one that kept this standard RB20 together when it was making 370rwkw.

Just had a meeting with one of my admin staff and gave her an official warning today. Pull your socks up or walk. I been doing more drafting work for the office and need to hand over some of the bookkeeping tasks, but she's f**king it up and blaming the system not working. Its been working for the last 9 years bitch!!! And being the office manager and having built this office ground up 9 years ago, I take that as an insult from someone with no qualifications/diploma/degree. She had a whinge to the #1 boss yesterday and he spoke with me yesterday arvo. He knows there is nothing wrong with the system we use, but rather the user (her). We both agreed she needed to be warned. This is not the first time she's messed up. She's been verbally warned a few times over the last year. She's even got a bit of a rude attitude on the phone at reception. When you're dealing with lawyers and Councils and Government departments as much as we do, you can't be rude to them. (she talks to them like they're telemarketers)

I've gone and hired and started training another admin staff member in the bookkeeping side of the office. She's obviously noticed that and sees her as a threat. So what. The new trainee bookkeeper will be taking over her jobs to do with the financial side of the office and she'll be limited back to general office typing and filing. Its my job as the manager to allocate the best resources anyway, so thats what I'm doing.

Crazy John are idiots.

Vodafone are bigger idiots.

Got sick of Crazy John and sent to Vodafone because all I hear are good things about them (mostly). so I sign up and transfer my existing number over. Nothing. Phone's not working.

I've been without a working phone for a week now. They were supposed to "port" my existing number over onto the new SIM card and f**ked it up. I rang over a dozen times in the last week to get it resolved, but nearly everytime I was put thru to customer service I was put on hold then the given the 'hang up' tone as the line was disconnected about 4-5 times. The 4 or so times I did get thru I was firstly reassured the problem would be resolved in 3 hours if I turned my phone off. Nope.

Finally called yesterday and gave them a mouthful. Immediately asked for someone who's native language is English. Explained it to them again and informed them that if they hung up on me again, accidentally or otherwise, I'd take my business elsewhere. I've been without a working phone for a week and I need my number for work. I can't send/received messages or calls. Told the line again about something f**ked up during "porting" my number and the techs are trying to fix it. Said it could take a few days. I told them that was unacceptable, I want to speak with the customer service manager. Put onto their supervisor, said "no" I want their manager. Spoke to the manager and explained the situation and how unimpressed I was. Said I didn't care to be treated on the same level as pimple faced teens who desperately want to text their stupid boyfriends ... my phone is required for me to make a living, as well as social reasons. Informed I would now be treated as a priority.

Finally, my phone is working again today. Now I gotta catch up on work. :D

    • Only needed to pull out the seats, center console and gear shifter surround, took a weekend and a fair few beers. You get to look forward to finding all sorts of weird shit under the seats and carpet, I pulled out a Chinese dudes passport from 2003, 220 yen and a condom wrapper 😆
    • Well, turns out not a lot happened from back then to now, between life again, and working on 3 separate other cars (only one of which was mine, and will now be departing the household soon).   So I decided with the whole "don't go outside, it's a cyclone!" Turning in to being not a whole lot, I ventured down to the garage, found a couple of water leaks in the shed (the main one I've already fixed), and then ended up "stuck" as it started pouring rain, and I didn't want to walk back inside in the pouring rain. This meant I ended up taking a look at the Skyline, and trying to work out what past Matt had been upto. I retraced a few things out from scratch, added the rest of the power feeds in that I needed for the indicators, and headlights. Double checked I'd wired a few things up correctly (and worked out how I wired a few things to begin with), updated my sparse notes. Added one of the ground points. Oh, and got really really dusty, as the car is quite dirty. Wrote up quickly what should be left for me to do with the wiring too. Adding the below photos more for my records than anything else. I need to make myself a proper book for the car that details everything, and how I've done it, but for now, this is my records... The third image is my most important one for me, and I need to draw it out into a proper schematic eventually. The last photo is my re-written list, I'd have put it on the white board, except I had to take the white board down to fix one of the water leaks.
