well some weird stuff is goin on with the GTR. I suspect its the battery causing it.

Took car to auto electrician this morning - turns out it was the fusible link that had corroded. Dude at the auto leccy replaced it and added two bigger terminals to fit my optima battery. Can't wait to pick it up.... total cost is around the $100 mark too, which is great (considering I was worried that the entire car's electrics had died).

good news dohmar! glad to hear its all sorted.

Think my spark plugs f**ked itself. Coming onto boost it feels like its choking, chuck it into neutral and idles roughly for a few seconds then is fine again. It still drives fine; until boost comes on. Damn spark plugs, what a pain it is to remove it.

Yeah that would be a smart dog. We have 2, a Kelpie x Border Collie and a purebred Labrador..

The Labrador is bloody dumb. As in so stupid I think it actually is retarded. Its fat and lazy, always wants food and hogs all the affection.

The Kelpie cross is smart, but obsessed with chasing tennis balls. Shes a brilliant guard dog tho, barks at everyone that passes by and cuts sick if they try and get inside the yard. Every skyline should come with one imho...

    • Yeah, well, it's not as though anyone is ever going to buy one of those noisy f**kers and put it into a new installation when there are better pumps that are near silent for less money from Ti.
    • I'd suggest having the engine builder listen to it, especially if they assembled it, and minimise how much you run it in the meantime. It may have a serious issue like a big end bearing from the description and I assume the rebuild was not cheap
    • Quite right, typing without checking, it is an 023 which was effectively the replacement for 040 (not that I could find either of them on the Bosch motorsport AU site), and it has a mesh inlet at the bottom of the pump rather than a separate filter
    • Hmm. I should have thought of the clutch bleeding issue. It should be #1 thought for "can't select gears". As to "sounds like the top".....have you actually gone out with the stethoscope and tried to pin it down any more than that? And, buy or borrow a timing light, and set the timing properly.
    • I donโ€™t really have any ideas how to set the timing on the CAS ๐Ÿ˜‚, sounds like the top, sounds like it maybe misfiring as well as ticking,ย  got the box sorted ๐Ÿ˜Œ, must of been a air bubble on the clutch side
