Read this story:

http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0...5006301,00.html

And read what a comment was for this story:

I wonder how many high speed incidents there are in the immediate days and weeks after the Clipsal 500 has been in Adelaide. This must cost the state dearly in business disruption within Adelaide, does it also have a cost in lives?

What kind of bullshit is that? Blaming Clipsal 500 for a bunch of robbers trying to out-run the police?!

old people can use the internet now, so its not just angry letters in the feedback section of the advertiser :(

What a poor, poor statement, that really has no relation to the story? They ran from the cops, and smashed, i dont think they had the Ckipsal 500 in their mind at the time. Another comment was, i hate to say it, spot on, but "they fulfilled their own destiny".

yay!

This is a tragic waste of life, but we need to ask why do young kids do this? When I was young I did stupid things in cars, got caught, paid the fine and became a better driver. Now, getting caught is too tough so higher risks are taken to NOT get caught, stupid things done later at night, done in more remote areas that are more dangerous etc. Remember Kids will be Kids, they will experiment. I say lets not stop kids experimenting, let provide them a safer way to experiment, provide a controlled manner in which they can experiment. Driving at 50 everyday only creates dumb useless drivers, learning how to control a car provides safer drivers, make it mandatory for kids to do some evasive driving classes, teach them how to drive faster, give them a place to do a burnout. I am sick of all this crap about lowering speed limits, increasing the fines. This just increases the risks some kids will take. Everyday we drive a car its a risk, we need to lower the risk, we need to save lives and we need to do it in a radical way. People comment about kids not understanding what they are doing and that they must "wake up" - don't you remember when you were a kid, when did you wake up? When were enlightened that you were not invincible? When did you realise that you are so important to your family - probably not until you got your own kids? I am saying lets provide better training and reduce the severity of the punishment, lets reduce the risk these kids have to take to experiment, the higher the risk the higher the loss and that is what we are seeing.

Im surprised the report doesnt go

'the skyline powered commodore'

the comment i read sort of blamed lowered speed limits and no race track

edit couldn't agree more with that quoted post there damo pity the right people that count dont read it and get things done

    • I just put 2 and 2 together. This is a Neo converted R32. The Neo ECU (in concert with the R34's AC controller) runs the AC quite differently to how the R32 ECU and AC controller do it. If you just drop it all in, it won't work. There is some tricky wiring required, including changing to the pressure switch that the Neo controllers want to see. I don't know what it is, because mine was done by a guru. It was a year or so after I did that transplant before he worked out what needed to be done.
    • Don't assume the AC relay signal from the ECU is +, some models including Stagea use an earth trigger.
    • Hey good to see you on the forums! Haha Considering this cars past with electronic issues I am leaning towards it being a wiring fault somewhere in the engine bay. When testing the ac relay in the fuse box there was no earth trigger. I am probably going to try "bench test" the compressor by giving it direct ground and power to see if i can hear the ac clutch click otherwise I will be pretty sure I have a dead compressor. If it does work then I will be tracing some wiring it seems.
    • Haha, the big brain move is to buy a second set of headlights to clean up or retrofit. I definitely don't have one sitting in a cupboard that hasn't been touched since it arrived. Just have to ignore the intrusive thoughts that suggest the second set is not quite as good as it could be and to buy a third set that the job would definitely get done with
    • Nah I'm talking about the GTS-t with 15" wheels and single piston brakes.  I've seen them pop up occasionally over the years. You can see it in the brochures. Most were early models (aka Series 1).
