I wish! Don't know whether to go for a FMIC first or suspension. All too hard cause I don't want to cut reo and cop a defect either!!!

I got to go speak to a suspension expert about lowering my car because I definitely don't want a harsh ride, being a daily driver. If I can get it 25-30mm lower with spring rates very similar to what they are now and of course correct camber I'll be happy.... don't really think it needs to be any lower than that.

do what i did. do it all in one hit. lol.

ill take you for a quick spin in the s14 some time, its firm, but it isnt harsh. and thats with my unpadded fibreglass seat. lol.

or you can go and spend big on bilstein gear, which going from nightcrawlers gear, is actually harsher than my coilovers.

A good puncture repairer can drill and glue a plug in there

yeah, ill see what tyrepower can do when i get it aligned on saturday.

test fitted the rims last night at grand auto....bolt straight on..rears need spacers to bring them out to the guard....they are APEC

i just need to swap two of the tyre over as they are 205/40/17...ill put my 217/45/17's pn for the back

Link didnt work for me Damo????

With the summer weather coming up steve i would be looking into a FMIC....i remember the days when i drove my 33 in the summer with the side mount and compare that to the same weather with a FMIC its unreal....FMIC does such a good job

I'll have to do it bit by bit so I can still drive it to work! We'll have to organise to go on another cruise up the hills.

Krishy, I know what you're saying as I drove it last summer. Starts to behave like a slug.... :D

Yeah my car runs the stock SMIC, last summer one afternoon when I was driving to work and my car said it was 45 degrees, I went to overtake someone on a fast road after they turned off, my RB20 felt more like a RB10. Thats without A/C on because it doesnt work lol. So needless to say, a FMIC is on my list - along with heap of other stuff.

im looking at hookin up a small electric water pump to my washer bottle with some little garden water sprayers between the cooler and the rad for some extra coolness when it all gets a little warm.

dave-o, Jenkies just ran his window washers to the fmic, so when you pull back on the stalk to squirt water, your spraying yo cooler not yo window!

That's cool (no pun intended)! Then in winter you can plug them back into the bonnet squirters :P

or re route them to the back wheels and join ragerz :P

damn you got to it before me.....i was thinking why not just tap into the hose that runs from the washer bottle to the jets.....that way spray the cooler and clean your window at the same time

cos when your cranking at 160 k's down the back straight at lala, the last thing you need is a front window full of water and your wipers going all frog in a blender

true true that.....Dave when you do this thingo let me know what is needing to be done

Where can you buy hobbs switches??

Im working out with our electrician how to do intercooler water spray kit and i beleive all i've got left to get is hobbs switch and reservoir/pump which is the easiest bit

Easy man, go down to bunnings and grab some spray nozzles from the garden section, then run your existing water hoses and cable tie them (so the nozzles spray in the right direction) underneath or on top of your cooler.

I dont actually have a washer reservoir :P FMIC piping took priority, gotta get the mrs brother to fab one up for me.

    • who can tell me what this is and why my car talks to me? i think it's hilarious. it's on my r34 right above the drivers-side storage compartment. the characters under the wrench say "inspection". every 10 or 20 startups, a voice starts talking in japanese from some speaker in this area below the dashboard. it says a few sentences then shuts off. different from the ETC card reader voice that happens every time i start the car. I've never found the speaker, i've never been able to catch the voice and translate what it says, and i've never found a forum thread that tells me how to reset the warnings. the holes in between the symbols are NOT buttons you can press to reset the warnings. anyone else have this? has the demon lord from Hereditary infected my car?!
    • Would you ever vent this bonnet or will it be unnecessary?
    • Happy new years folks! Wishing you all a successful year of money pit ownership!  So the subframe bushes are out....   Ok, who else has done that job before??  What a C U Next Tuesday of a job that is!  Be glad to not do that again in a hurry! I think I explored every option available to chop the middle section of the bushes out, most of them unsuccessfully! I tried a holesaw, die grinder, normal drill bit, air chisel, etc, etc. The true success happened by accident when I'd decided to try a step drill I spotted on the bench on the way passed.  See, there are benefits to never cleaning up after yourself! It RIPPED through so so much better than the drill bit. It has to be the skinniest one available so its small enough to fit between the inner tube and outer casing but it made easy work of it.  First one i hammered the shit out of... New method- 20250102_185506.mp4   I did the other 5 in less time than I fluffed around with the first one. With the first couple I used the cut off saw (sawsall as the yanks love to call them) to cut a break in the outer casings. Even with that they're still a prick to hammer or air chisel out.  The last few i just went rambo with the air chisel without cutting them. I over cut one of the early ones so will hit the with the mig to fill the cut then sand it off smooth.  The carnage left over-   I've also been "nesting" ie, cleaning up my babies nursery,  ie cleaning the f**king pig sty of a shed. I've got that much shit laying around it's as cluttered as my head!  Getting things put away, in boxes, on shelves, hanging off walls, all to get some working space back again.  Hopefully that keeps me motivated....
    • AFAIK does the base map for Haltech even have the 4D compensation enabled? It's been a while but when I looked at it I remember it was actually using pure TPS as one load signal and MAP for another. Seemed workable but not ideal by any stretch. A lot of people have "make the event-itis" which leads to stuff like this happening.
