May go for a drive and look at Grand Auto Wreckers, or go get some Meguiar's car detailing gear, or go and see if i can find a repco that sells metalcat cats, or just ramble on :) .

if you end up going down to grand auto...youll see the rims im considering getting...black with polished lip

Just got a reply from Isobel Redmonds office regarding the motorsport park email:

Dear Damien Hill,

Thank you for your email regarding the A Current Affair segment covering road safety and in particular 'hoon driving'.

This is an area in which Isobel Redmond MP has had considerable involvement having served as the local government representative on the State’s Road Safety Advisory Council for some 10 years.

The recent spike in our road toll is of concern to everyone, particularly when we see the tragic loss of young lives as a consequence of momentary inattention or a foolish lapse of judgement.

Whilst 'hoon driving' legislation enables SAPOL to clamp or seize vehicles, that obviously cannot provide the whole answer: better driver education, skills courses, a new multi-motorsport facility and further restrictions on inexperienced drivers have all been proposed.

The Liberal Opposition is considering all options.

Yours faithfully

f**k i hate "RBT's".

every friday and saturday night i work, i never see an rbt to or from work. every other night of the week, i come across at least one.

tonight i avoided 4 of the f**king things.

how f**king pointless is that shit? yeah, slashdance is on tonight, but seriously, wouldnt those resources be better used when people are more likely to drink and drive, like on a friday or saturday night?

i can even find myself a agreeing with rbt's on peripheral days like thursday and sunday, because theyre getting busier in town recently, but monday - wednesday? having a couple pc's out and about pulling randoms over makes more sense than dumb-testing rbt's everywhere.

and just quietly, 3 out of 4 of these rbt's had some poor bastards in imports sitting on the side of the roads with the bonnets up while the cops just waved everyone through.

breath testing my shiny daffodil ass...

No surprises there, atleast you weren't one of them. Don't worry man, SAPOL is doing their part in keeping hoons off the road

I'd prefer a cooler that has the plumbing come from the same side and doesn't require any hole sawing (removal of washer bottle). I'll continue looking into it, there's quite a bit on these forums

I'll still emphasise my original point. If you get something custom done you can have it wherever you like, and it probably wont cost you epic amounts like some of these cooler kits do. You can buy many different cooler core designs / sizes these days

anyone got experience with the latest model HD digital video recorders? looking at getting one in the next couple of months, prob spend around 6-700 on one. saw a nice JVC and Sony one for around the $600ish mark

i like this http://www.jvc-australia.com/JVCstores/PRO...20GZ-MS130B.pdf

why not just get a tivo?!?!? they are sooooooo good!

nah i want a camcorder video recorder, not tv recorder

damos making porno! quick talbo, get your wah wah pedal!! i'll lay down some bass lines and we can have ourselves a bona fide porn soundtrack, 70s style

nah i want a camcorder video recorder, not tv recorder

I'll be doing the same ... but I'm sick of the recorders that shut off when mounted to a bike. Going to get myself a helmet cam

If anyone is just after a thrash cam, this one is pretty cheap and for the price wont matter if it smashes on anything.

video qual here:

(youtube downscaled from 1080i, little jagged)

Still in search of a camera with good night time quality, even my mates ~$1200 sony hd cam comes out bad at night.

Funnily enough, working at Holdens it gets worse than those! :D

And on the same lines, Holdens is releasing its direct injection motor in the next month, 190kw 3.0ltr and 210kw 3.6ltr. Big woop i think

But they are also pushing for an E85 refinery to be set up to compliment their new ECO-LINE motors. So the old General is good for something else other than funding the Skyline

And picked up my DBA 4000 series rotors today for the front, only $10 difference to RDA!

If you guys think modding a car is expensive, try modding a 250cc race bike:

TYGA expansion chambers and SS cans (full GP race exhaust system) - $530 GBP from UK

Cougar Red racing 3 piece power valves (set of 4) - $395 GBP from UK

Cougar Red race cylinder heads (set of 2) - $395 GBP (both) from UK

Spares:

Cylinder heads (coated) - $287.10 GBP each (x2) from UK

Thats $1,894.20 GBP = $3,759.88 AUD

Thats not including delivery from the UK, or the dyno time to tune it all in.

What have I gotten myself into? :D Thank God the bike's already had a complete engine rebuild, gearing kit and brake upgrade! Plus enough spares to crash the bike 2 times over

Problem is we'd be realistically rebuilding the engine every 6 months, so that about $1,500 each year.

my shiny daffodil ass...

Such elocution & terms of endearment like the above will get you places in this world Davey Boi.

43. Did you eat an extra bowl of stupid this morning?

Haha, my fave!!

I'll be doing the same ... but I'm sick of the recorders that shut off when mounted to a bike. Going to get myself a helmet cam :D

Speak to 'Dangerman' Roo......he's got a good setup.

Just went for a boot up the highway

dodgy 444 injectors were replaced with 555's on tues...

broken boss kit removed today and stock skyline steering wheel fitted.

no diagnostic mode with bosskit. removal of bosskit and fitting of stocker.

diagnostic mode ran, rear wheels having a spazzo moment

5 error codes retrieved instantly from hicas controller. codes reset.

30 km drive. no errors.

rtb. everything put back together.

i then take it on the highway and it starts handling stupendously good. i crack wood

chuck a hicas u turn using the dual roundabouts on the crafers overpass... no more sqealing from incorrect rear toe in

summary:

the dickhead who owned my car in japan decided that the nardi wheel 'look foory sik' and decided to put a pov spec boss controller that doesnt support hicas on. he gets sick of the hicas LED coming on the dash, so like any genius would, he just removes the bulb..

comes to me and i replace the globes in my dask with led's 18 mths ago and I start to twig that the red light that just started appearing has something to do with the fact the the car tramlines over 80kph but only within the first 25 minutes of driving (before the light comes on)

why has it taken me so long? Because every dickhead says 'just get a lock bar, duh'.

but i like hicas. its quite useful if you're not a psycho kamikazee dori head

that and i thought the solution lied in getting a conzult program that would pull hicas codes. sad to say the only software that can pull hicas codes from an r32 is actually made for a 300zx and costs $500 for the software alone.

i even tried using a hex-terminal to send the init codes to the hicas controller manually

i could get an OK from the init string but never figured out how to make sense of the gibberish that came out when i switched the channel to 'all sensors streaming'

so. a $50 steering wheel has simply proven that i have a dodgy arse boss kit.

f**k.

thats all i have to say about that.
