Thats the last thing I thought I would see you post Dave.

If I were to have a 33 it would have to be s2 typeM with the lower lip on front bar etc.

Please don't tell me its a silver 33? :)

More specs and info on it Dave?

haha, yeah, i never thought id be tempted by anything less than a series 3 R, funny how things go.

its white, pretty much a stocker, fairly cheap.

I need your help, guys n girls.

I have a massive fear of commitment/rejection.

Im taking a big step next weekend of going out to dinner with one of my friends, and i cant decide on where to take her.

It will be my very first "date" and im 19. Kinda sad, but yeah.

I cant find the thread that had places to take your girl to. So im asking in here.

Can you help me with any good restaurants in adelaide, that wont break the bank?

Thanks

bout time twink. better late than never.

question you gotta ask though, whats she into? the idea of going just to a dinner might bore her tears.

at least youre not thinking 'movies' straight off the bat though, bad idea for a first.

Revolving resteraunte (sp) in Glenelg, eat there, have a few light drinks.

Then walk down to the grand have a few more drinks, and take the night as it comes. Bit of dancing to avoid awkward scilences etc. Prepare to spend a few $$$ lol :)

Scandy, does it have the typeM lower front lip etc? They look awesome with that lip and side skirts and stuff

you need to be able to start a conversation with one to ask their advice jake. twink. :)

try something out of the ordinary. not massively random, but something slightly unexpected. if you cant think of anything unusual...

... then you really oughtta try maccas.

If the 33 is mint I would consider it,

There is that restaurant on the island at Victor harbour, so you could turn it into a nice sunday drive and grab a big late lunch something less formal :)?

Just because i drive a 31, doesn't make me poor!

I've known this girl for a while, so its not exactly going to be awkward.

Strand, Salsa, Gringos, Revolving Restaurant seem like good ones at the moment.

If the 33 is mint I would consider it,

only reason i am really.

bingo. casual drive, check the sights, late afternoon lunch or dinner as the sun sets, walk along the beach, guaranteed in.

its a 31 thing. whenever someone suggests 'expensive' a 31'ers mind instantly goes to 'lowball' and poor.

basically 'lowballing because youre poor' is the running joke on the 31 forums.

ie, a typical for sale thread on the 31 forums;

"sweet wheels, id buy them but i had to buy petrol and rego my car, but ill give you $15 next week after i get paid if you can arrange postage?"

Precisely!

Did you not say a RB25 hybrid? Or is that the type of turbo, a hybrid of a RB25 turbo, not the engine.

I am putting a 3076R on a stock RB25...but it will have 740cc injectors, and a kickass ECU. Just a matter of booking the car in, and handing over about $1.5k to have it installed and tuned :)

lol, i meant turbo as hybrid. got a blown 25 turbo ready to be molested

The difference in response between the 3071 and the 2871 would be less then 200rpm but will give you more headroom for future mods. Infact Powertune in NSW and Street Forced Performance in Vic have developed a 3071 kits for SR's that are as responsive as a 2871r if not more responsive. I'll find the thread;

EDIT!! Here you go

thanks for the info dale, will have a read and a look. if it can save me a few squid and i dont have to go to a custom turbo, i'll be happier

    • Everyone is too used to learning from places like HPA "how to tune" and what to expect at what point, rather than being able to see "The computer says I'm in cell with Row = 8, column =4, and I can see my fuel is lean, so lets add more" Everyone wants "real units", which helps for someone picking it up for the first time and seeing how bad the tune is if they're not used to touching it.   However, I think for most of us who want to play with it, you're 100% right, we're only needing to learn about it for OUR CAR. Which makes it great, and we don't need to care what the real values are, we just need to know which cell it is, that's causing the lean or rich point, or that we want more ignition timing or less. But again, everyone wants everything super you beaut and nearly self tuning, with VE maps, and a billion compensations...   Though then there's me over here when I'm doing reverse engineering work just reading data in hex format that most people couldn't work anything out from. Yet I can see what's going on.
    • Um. No. Since Matt introduced the TIM it has become a lot easier to deal with the consequences of changing K for AFM and injector swaps. Then, tuning is a f**king doddle. No-one needs to know or care how many grams of air are flowing or any other bullshit. Need more fuel in a cell? Add more fuel. Need more timing in a cell. Add more timing. Need to adjust any of the other tables for warm up and so on? No harder than anything else. Sure - it's not an ECU system for starting from scratch on an arbitrary engine. But then.....it was never supposed to be, not recommended for, and almost never used that way. So.... On your engine, in particular, Nistune/Nissan OEM is about as sophisticated and difficult as banging 2 rocks together. Those ECUs are primitive and simple. There is nothing difficult there. I learnt Nistune from scratch, created new maps with extended axes, interpolated/extrapolated the original maps onto them and tuned my RB20 (basically the same ECU as your 26 ECU) all by myself, more than 20 years ago. And that was long before even TIM.
