had to sign papers and put down a non-refundable deposit

There's no way I'd be signing or paying anything for a test drive especially in the current economical climate where they should be pretty much licking your balls to get a sale.

Maybe they have too many cashed up kids with car loans and not enough cars!

I told them they could hold on to my car! still wouldnt. Even said let my dad drive cos hes old, still wouldnt.

Def suss. Checked out their (lame) website ... which is conveniently linked to the Trading Post.

They have another R34 there with more kms at a higher price? Their pricing is all over the place. :/

Here is the said car:

Interior: unplugged boost gauge in A-pillar? Or just a random wire hanging out? What's the kill-switch for? Steering wheel is worn, yes, but not as bad as what I thought it'd be (sweaty hands, etc can wear away the leather), floor matt's worn or just white lines on them?

Yeah I looked at the other one as well a month or two back!

They had the same story about not having history. I didnt like the engine, was traces of oil leaks and wasnt as quiet as the other one.

Couldnt tell me if it has done is 100,000kms service or anything at all.

Its more expensive because they are selling it for another yard or something and they cant drop the price.

Thats the last visit they will have from me.

I think the wire was the alarm light but the guy there didnt even know.

I'm pretty sure the red switch was the boost controller, he also didnt know.

Floor matts have white lines, but there were a few holes under them, and another one by the corner of the mat like it had rubbed through.

You cant see the burn mark on the body kit in those photos as it is on the inner side.

By looking at even that shot of the interior it's definitely done more than 64K. Mine has 100K+ and is in much better condition

My r32 gtr didnt even look that worn when I bought it... and it was 18 years old at the time ;\ sounds like that poor car has had a hard life

would be interesting to see if the cops had another blitz on import yards, how many would remain in the lot without a yellow canary......not knowing the product that you're selling is just no excuse for apparent ignorance (cops would agree)......they could be selling you a ticking bomb

Sounds all like Synergy Motorsport to me!!

Mate looked at a Supra, had to sign papers and put down a non-refundable deposit, etc after a test drive even though he wasn't keen on it at all after the test drive.

Penny, thats duress into signing a contract, dont do it, im pretty sure its not legal, in usa they will pull the salesmen's license for it and fine the car lot. in this economy they think they can assure a sale since they have a deposit.

and not getting into the above mentioned lot, simply put, dont buy from them, PM me for long list of reasons why.

oil leaks on a low K skyline? means its been taken apart??? they dont get oil leaks for the most part, rocker covers might seep a tiny bit.

my car has 65,000k on it and that one has had a rough life from the looks of it... keep looking or import one?

that isnt a alarm wire hanging out, and the red switch could go to anything, old driving lights ???????

Anyone else ever catch the BBC comedy series "Coupling"? I loved the first 3 series with the original "Jeffery"

"My mother use to make sculptures of erections when I was young. Kept them all over the house. Some came out wrong and they ended up in a box under my bed. You don't wanna know about my nightmares!" :P

More from Coupling:

Patrick: It was just so embarrassing. I didn't know what to do.

Steve: Happens to us all mate.

Jeff: All of us, in our time, are visited by the melty man.

Patrick: The what?

Jeff: Don't say his name, Patrick. Don't even think his name or he will rise from the shadow dimensions to do his evil work on your terrified pants.

Patrick: [chuckle] Terrified pants?

Steve: [gravely] There's nothing funny about the melty man, Patrick.

Patrick: [face falls] You know about the melty man, too?

Steve: [in a "duh!" voice] We all know the melty man.

Patrick: Who is he?

Steve: The archenemy of trouser confidence.

Jeff: Professor Moriarty. In groin form.

Steve: Darth Vader

Jeff: Without the helmet.

Patrick: [terrified and shocked] What does he do?

Jeff: Patrick, you *know* what he does.

Patrick: [looks down] Oh right.

Jeff: You're in bed with a woman. Everything's going fine. That's when the melty man strikes.

Steve: Suddenly you find yourself thinking, "Maybe she's really bored".

Jeff: Maybe you're licking her neck too much. Are you over-wetting her neck?

Steve: Are you spending an equal amount of time on each breast? I mean, what if one breast gets ahead?

Jeff: Should you be switching between them really quickly or should you squish 'em both together and do them at once

[demonstrates]

Patrick: [frowns]

Steve: Or should you skip one breast completely just to save time?

Jeff: She's wriggling about. Is that a good sign or is she just trying to dry her neck?

****************

Jane: I'm being stalked, actually, so I'm pretty secure in my attractiveness.

Susan: You're being stalked?

Jane: Is that so hard to believe?

Sally: My god!

Jane: Everyday on my way home from work, a man follows me. It's true.

Susan: Well, have you been to the police?

Jane: They said I was being silly and paranoid. I heard them laughing after I left.

Sally: That's terrible!

Susan: Well, have you confronted the man who follows you?

Jane: Well, there's no point, is there? It's never the same man twice. Sometimes they switch over when I'm halfway home. It's so well organized!

haha pete ,good point, I know of at least one lot that 90% of the cars would get the yellow sticker,,and they continue to install mods knowing they're defective and illegal.

they return the car to stock for inspection and mod it back up afterwards, not informing buyers about what is legal and not?

on top of that the service dept does some dangerous work, which they wont stand behind for 1 min

wouldnt the lot cop it legally for not having a waiver signed ???explaining the mods might not be road legal, waiving their liability???

If they are getting the cars from interstate wont they have to go through the check at regency?

Makes me wonder if they wait until its sold before they get that done as they dont have plates on them.....

Yes but they'd 'clean up the car' to get them through the ID check, remove the non-standard parts, etc. It's also a part of compliance, but they usually install the modded parts back on after compliance.

And I know for a fact, Synergy respray their cars that they import and remove all the dents, dings, etc prior to putting the car into their car yard - hence the slightly higher price, even if the respray is a single layer affair.

    • I hope so.  It seems pretty nice. OEM feel the lot.
    • I wouldn't be surprised if this helps. And I wouldn't be surprised if it keeps changing for a bit after the new slave&hose go on, because I find that my clutch always does this sort of shenanigans after any serious dismantlery. And then it settles down after a few corrective tweaks such as you've already done.
    • Ist post I joined after seeing this thread  I have just installed on a r33gtst at first I liked it but I am finding the peddle free play changes …. To a point I have had a zero free play condition and the thrust bearing stayed engaged. I had to back off the adjustment on peddle.   I am about to change slave and fit a braided line to see if I can get a better result

    • Just remake the bracket. It's just bent steel with a nut welded to it. It is thinner material than you might remake it in. You just have to get the thickness right in places where it absolutely must be (and there might not actually be any such places. The same motor trimmer who you get to work on the outside of the seat would no doubt have done exactly this type of repair in the past.
