i went for a hills run last night in the 31 with the roads very slippery.....was much fun. Had to bed in the bottom end bearings so yea..took it for a strap.

Dam straight Damo would rather do SAU them heroin gts4 are 4.1 because they share the same parts from the gtr i think r32 gtst is 4.3 because of the lack of torque from the rb20

if the motor dies, it will be my mission to make a 'Nissan's version of a hatchback skyline'

So that means RB25, and the plastic overface thing for the tail lights + type X lights + GTR bumper + grill + the list goes on..

but the SR20 is running very nice!

Hello everyone, long time lurker fairly new poster.

Just wanting some advice if possible. I am currently looking at purchasing a skyline and am wanting somthing mechanically sound. I have recently found a car and was wondeing if there is anywhere that does pre purchase inspections? I know of RAA etc, but have been told there knowledge of imports isnt great. I am a female without a huge amount of mechanical knowledge and I dont want to be taken for a ride.

you can buy my r33 gtst! 20k with almost everything you need unless you're more into cosmetics

2nd hand wheel bearings, snapping drive shafts, missing nuts... the list goes on.

I used them a while back for rebuilding the R31 driveshaft and some commo work nothing more , they have won many RAA awards for best shop in south.???

but your word is better then the BS awards.

happy customers or disgruntled ones speak volumes over some BS awards

haha, yeah i understand aboutt he cut and paste job, but all the guards are metal, its been engineered with the r32 front on so 100% legal :D

My dad is a panel beater by trade for 18 years, he said it was pretty well done (he is also a gap nazi)

:D be good to see some of your cars at one of these villis nights once the new bumper is done (satay pies FTW)

Yep they were fantastic until Rod retired and his Son Brenton took over. When Rod was heading it, the service was fantastic and no bullshit, either.

Once Brenton stepped in, the place has gone down-hill. My wheel bearing seized on me, so I took the car in (old car) to get it replaced. 2 weeks later, bang... wheel bearing had seized on me and my drive-shaft snapped, too. Went to Rod Prime, confronted them, and Brenton admitted they had used a 2nd hand wheel bearing from U-Pull-It yet charged me full price for a brand new one!! And they even left one of the wheel nuts off!

They also fitted the wrong water pump to the car (how they did that, I'll never know) and then told me I needed a brand new gear box, even though the gear box was fine and had been rebuilt only a few months prior.

Brenton is the rudest prick you'll ever talk to. He has 0 customer service and gives you real attitude. There's plenty of others in the same boat as I'm in, ever since Brenton took over.

Yeah, that is why I went over for the Melbourne Motor Show a couple of months back - to get my new car fix and have a gander at the R35GTR and the 370Z before they officially came out.

just put a 32 rear end on that 180 and it will look sweet as :D just messing, looks pretty nice

getting newbies coming in from all over, hell even why scandys on the forums. thought he woulda scared em off

Price on the Sil 4.3K, i dont expect that much... but 4k firm (i paid that and it was non turbo..) but there are a few issues like it needs new rear shocks, but ill give the person who buys it off me some stocks ones to put in to fix the problem.. that and i think the fuel pump is shitting its self...

      Appreciate the feedback. It is street car, but not a daily. Last week I got a quote from a good exhaust shop for a decat, one which is bolt-on, bolt-off to be easily replaceable. I got quoted for around €150. I usually do push the motor, but I wasn't in this case to make sure that no damage is done until I get the cat sorted. I think it's best to also ask the exhaust shop for the other option and see what they can do. If (big if) I were to decat though, would it be best to tune the car or would the stock ECU handle it? As far as I know, the stock ECU is not tunable and that would require additional purchases.

      Right, its been a while for updating this car, but I made some small but important progress today. In the end I bought an Ecutek dongle from the Australian distributor Tunehouse (for local hardware support) but have gone with a remote tune from Racebox in the US (because they have done millions of these, and I could not find any tuner where I could access the tune anyway as they are all password locked). The App is reasonably easy to work with, but the PC software reminds me of Haltech's ECU Manager that you need to use with the Plat Pro ECUs, it is a nightmare.  Anyway, I sent the details over, got back a tune file and a request for data logs. I finally got a chance to access a private test track today as they want redline logs in 3rd and 4th, and have sent them back for the first round of reviews. The main difference in the tune is going from 1.0 (stock) to 1.3 bar (19psi), although I'm sure is a lot of other stuff in the background. Keeping in mind this is a dead stock car with 125,000klm, this is what the App's performance test claimed: Before After Interesting to note that both 400m tests had the same terminal speed (158klm/h) but different ETs. And no, the speed limiter seems to be higher than that at 186kl/h. Summary of the key logged parameters for the 3rd and 4th gear runs were: Those little turbos were certainly whizzing at 200,000rpm+.  Also I'm really not that excited about oil pressure 55psi at redline so I think I'll go thicker than 5w30 (nissan recommend 0w20....) and see if that improves it. Other than that (and the big boost spike....) everything looks good as a start to me.
