its a hit and miss really, sometimes cops will be picky and hand out defects, othertimes they wont, alot comes down to how you present the car, if you have stupidly obvious defects, eg, loud as, wheels majorly out of guards etc you are gonna be more likely to be picked on, but if you present yourself in a good manner you are gonna have a better chance of nothing happening to you.

An example was G1 rnd 1, simon drove his 32 home after the event, he had front bar missing and headlight and front 1/4 damage, he got pulled into the driver checking station, cop did their routine stuff and let him on his way, why? i would say because he presents himself well and doesnt give the impression of some street racer.

Thats my rambling done but it gives you a good idea, i have been informed by a extremely reliable source that the events will be cracked down on more with the sport becoming more popular so if you have worries about being defected best thing to do would be grab the parents car or jump in with your mates in the least defectable and hope your all good lol.

Oh, matty, i did pm angry about the group buy but havnt heard anything, so if he lets you know anything please let me know also.

CHeers.

thats wat i thought! dont even wanna risk driving there!!

which sucks coz i know atm my car is stock! but prob still get done for something even thou i passed regency on monday!

and it means that if cops are gonna pick on cars going to a drift comp then y have a comp? coz most to all cars will get done even if there just going to watch a "sport"

kinda sucks!

yeah I've been a few times even with my old loud exhaust and have had no dramas drive sensible and if you don't have dark dark tint too low ot crazy rims you should be ok

nah have to disagree, i highly doubt you would get done in your car if its stock, we have taken flicks 32 through there quite a few times and never been done. The cops up there arent as bad as you think. One of the main cops up there is actually on a couple of the forums now too. He is trying to help things with the sport. The cops there are mainly just to detoure people from doing stupid stuff, the odd person might get done but considering how many defectable cars roll through there, its a very small percentage. Im sure simon will agree too when he reads this.

I think nisskid may have been one of the unlucky ones to cop a defect but i believe all he got done for was a cracked indicator and it coulda been much worse. So they arent up there to just try and screw us over.

which means a million piece of shit ke70s with homemade guards, mismatched wheels, rust, p plates and a douche behind the wheel that cant drive to save himself.

i say bring on the defects if its getting wankers like that off the road.

im sure if your car was presentable, not bald tyres, not mismatched rims etc, like said above, then im sure you wouldnt have a problem, and the police would more then likely know your just going for a drive and to watch the drifts.

I would hazard a guess at saying it looks like full boost of 19psi by about 3500 to 4000 rpm.

Trailing of to 18 psi at the end of the dyno.

Need more info on mods etc......assuming normal fuel, how much timing, what are the AFR's, etc?

If its a GTR with PFC & Exh, then its excellent power....if its a GTR with 10g spent under the bonnet, then its very average.

Ramp speed at 150 is a good start (more realistic & comparable to real life on the bitumen).

On the other hand, too many tunes are done at 200 just to impress the customer with numbers and are generally fine on the dyno but pingers on the bitumen going up hill.

PEOPLE & THEIR DRINKS

A recent magazine survey, interviewed fifty bartenders and they were asked if they could identify a customer’s personality on what drinks they ordered?

Although interviewed separately, they concurred on almost all counts.

The results:

If Women Drink ...

Beer

Personality: Casual, low maintenance; down to earth.

Approach: Challenge her to a game of pool.

Cocktails or Blender drinks with umbrella

Personality: Flaky, annoying, dizzy, and a pain in the ass.

Approach: Avoid her, unless you want to be her cabin boy.

Mixed drinks - no umbrellas e.g.; Gin and tonic / Scotch and soda

Personality: Mature, has picky taste; knows what she wants

Approach: If she wants you, she’ll send YOU a drink.

Water

Personality: Pretentious and is looking for a serious relationship.

Approach: Don’t.

Wine - (bottled, not 4 litre cask)

Personality: Conservative and classy, sophisticated.

Approach: Try and weave Paris and clothing into the conversation.

Bacardi Breezer, Red Square, Archers Cooler, Smirnoff Ice, Mudshake etc.

Personality: Easy; thinks she is trendy and sophisticated actually has no clue.

Approach: Make her feel smarter than she is... and you’re in.

Cape Velvet

Personality: Annoying voice, bit of a tart.

Approach: Stand close and mention the alley next to the pub.

Shots and Slammers (Tequila, Vodka, Aftershock etc.)

Personality: Hangs around with male work pals or looking to get drunk...and naked.

Approach: Easiest hit in the pub, Nothing to do but wait.......

IF MEN DRINK... (As always, very simple and clear cut.)

Cider

He’s probably under-aged and wants to get laid.

Cheap Domestic Beer

He’s poor / student and wants to get laid.

Castle Lager Beer

He likes good beer and wants to get laid.

Imported Beer

He’s old; he likes good beer and wants to get laid.

Guinness

The man is a rapist and will get laid one way or another.

Water

He just threw up and is trying to wash the taste out of his mouth so that he can still get laid

Wine

He’s hoping that the wine thing will give him a sophisticated image and help him get laid.

Vodka or Brandy

Extremely horny hound, would shag a warm scarf. Desperate to get laid.

Port

Thinks he’s sophisticated, secretly likes men and wants to get laid.

Whisky

He doesn’t give two shits about anything and will hit anyone who will get in his way of getting laid.

Jack Daniels

Not as masculine as the whisky drinker, knows all about feminine activities (knitting, crochet etc.) to weasel himself into getting laid.

Rum or Tequila

Likes fighting almost as much as getting laid.

Bacardi Breezer, Red Square, Archers Cooler, Smirnoff Ice, etc

He’s gay (blatantly) - don’t turn your back or pick up any dropped change.

Pretty accurate stuff in most cases Nick.

I like the odd Paley, Corona & Bundy so what does that make me........a drunken mess if I drink too much & keep mixing!

    • I’ve gone down the Rb30 rabbit hole the past few days and it sounds pretty sweet, only thing that really turns me off is the $2500 price tag for a bare block people are asking around here. That being said I’ve got a snowmobile I could sell to get the majority of the bottom end done lol
    • Compression test is good. Leak down is same across the board but could be lower. It's a loose engine, I specifically asked my builder to build it on the loose side as I was planning on running 35+psi. I'm also growing more convinced it's blowby. My engine builder wanted me to do the good old oil in cylinder then compression test to see if it goes up so I'll go ahead and do a cold, hot and hot with oil compression test to see.  I also went ahead and filled my catch can with stainless steel wool to see if it accumulates anything now. I'll report back in 200-300km's.
