Rear Number Plate Light Change ?

Hey guys i've seen some youtube vids with blue number plate lights instead of just the normal light, is this legal and what is needed to do such a mod? looks awesome during night.

Blue lights would be illegal but I've got white ones on mine. All you need is the bulbs. The effect is great for how much it costs and how easy it is to install the bulbs.

mate, take a trip down to your local autobarn and buy a set of t10 or t5 wateva... led lights.

They'll be illegal, but highly doubt the police will care. Maybe if you've got a skyline, but there are so many people running around with green, blue and red parkers and nothing happens to them, but like I said, you've got a skyline and they might pick on you because of that.

Errr... maybe you change the globes for blue ones? Lol..

Anyway, they are basic 12W wedge type park light gloves. Two screws to each light, pull out and put new ones in. Shouldnt take more than 5 mins to do

i replaced the lights that are standard over the rear plate with a green 8 inch neon tube. looks mint at night but i know for a fact changing the colour of a number plate light is illegal in vic.

it so because diff colour can affect the way a plate looks when photographed by a speed/red light camera
