Hi,

This has not yet been covered and i would like anyone with an R34 who has installed a boost control to assist people like myself who have had trouble installing one. As you may know, this is not as simple as the r33, as the R34 has a separate pipe running off the power steering pump into the boost line, which makes the whole process allot different to the r33.

I would like to get any help/walkthroughs/pics as to the installation of a boost control on the 34. As mentioned above, the biggest problem is getting around the power steering pump pressure line (which is tapped into the boost line).

Your help is much appreciated, and believe me, I've looking for a thread like this and its completely closed down.

Cheers.

Chris

to install a boost controller you only need:

boost controller

boost feed

wastegate/actuator

vac hose

you can block off the line of the boost controller going to the 'boost line', and T the new boost controller into an existing vacuum hose. no dramas there.

it doesnt matter which vacuum hose you T it into, just as long as the hose isnt too long.

I can understand that...However, it doesnt sound logical to tap the power steering vacuum line into the boost control does it? Apparently the power steering boost line is the power steering modules way of venting the compression from using it - Thus needs to vent somewhere it can be disposed of....probably not best t-ing it into the boost controller...

Additional help??? Pics...anything..

looking at my r 34 could you not just use the lines going to the stock solinoid??? i see one pipe goes to the wastegate and the other is a vaccum source......but instead of being like the r33 coming out of the cooler pipe it comes from the elbow right after the turbo...... but it still vaccum......someone must have pics of this as i wouldnt t off the power steering vacuum if u dont need to.......
