Hi all,

Another cruise I thought of apart from the one I've organised to Wollongong..

I was driving in the city the other day, and noticed like 15 or so WRX's all driving together.. You dont understand how much attention they caught from other cars, girls, you name it!

So I thought to myself... Gee's Skylines look better cruising than them!!! LOL

Here's one for Sydney!

Meeting: P6 Carpark (Olympic Park), Australia Avenue

When: 04th November (Sunday)

Time: 11:00am, leaving 11:30am

Where we going?:

Driving up to Palm Beach first, through the scenic National Park just past Mona Vale.. Chill there for a bit..

Then drive back through the northern beaches, passing Dee Why and Manly. Head over the Harbour Bridge..

Then along William Street through to Double Bay, past Vaucluse and coming from the other side towards Bondi (Im sure they'll be some bikini's out!!). Then back way to Double Bay.

Back along William Street, turning left at Hyde Park heading to Oxford Street. From Oxford Street, turning right at Taylors Square heading to Anzac Parade.

Next stop will be La Perouse.

After La Perouse, heading through Brighton Le Sands, going the back way straight towards Burwood (Massive Cafe Strand).

Then along Parramatta Road for a bit, left on Norton Street (Leichhardt), going straight up to the final stop at La Montage (on the bay) - Big car park for all of us to fit. This should be around 3-4pm, where we will finish the drive.

Let me know if your interested.. I think this cruise will be an interesting one...

Looking forward to meeting some of you on the wollongong cruise 21st November.

Safe driving guys!

driving in traffic.. awesome
+1

Unless you want to attract heaps of attention from the occasional uleh on the street,

Obviously that IS what you want from this cruise... Carry on :spank:

lol

Bunch of pansy whingers...

Excellent idea, let's do it for Sydney!

I'm there 100% and we need to rally some support for the Skylines - i'm getting sick of all these ugly WRXboxes with exhausts that sound like me gargling listerine!

This cruise takes us through the best that Sydney has to offer. It's gonna be a good one.

Let's end the Fat Pizza reign of terror :P

Bunch of pansy whingers... ;)

Yeah, because cruising up Lane Cove Road, and then down Pittwater Road, across the bridge, and then out to the inner west is for Terry Tough C#%ts. :w00t: I suppose if you're driving a boat you're going to want to keep it near the water.

If you think that cruising up dead straight, traffic lighted, heavily populated, low speed metropolitan roads is the best Sydney has to offer your GT sports coupe, it just goes to show how low your standards are.

How can any Sydney road with a max speed limit of 110km/h test the capacity of a car that can do 240km/h with the speed limiter removed? Ur not making sense mate.

It's not about power sliding around every corner; it's about cruising as mates, showing off our nice imports and doing it through some of the nicest roads in the city we all live in!

+1 :w00t:

this type of cruise is not to my taste, but I feel the need to offer advice.

Cruising around Northern Beaches is safe over the weekend, however, don't go to bondi as the cops set up defect stations regularly on the beachfront during the daytime.

I thought about that already.. If you's want we can by pass it instead.. I think we'll decide at Palm Beach, depending on how many cars come..

As for the idiot who is negative, mate when someone buys a nice import, they dont buy it to stash it in the garage champ!

We're approaching summer, and driving responsibly through our city, with mates (new and old) is a reasonable cause...

Good Point Omar...

ignore the weekend warriors :w00t: they prefer to go to a track and blow a turbo or two...

Each to their own guys, stop slinging shit on everyone... If you don't like the idea, don't shit on those that do...

Ur dead right doofman... posts deleted ;)

*gone*

While this does sound good, It would still be hard to co-ordinate through traffic.

I remember when we cruised to Newcastle and there was around 40+ of us I think we had to stop and reform on the highway as too many people got left behind.

For the benefit of everyone I recon the most you could do through traffic is 10..

Hell when it was just me you and dyken I almost got caught at a few sets of lights.

Although it would be cool to watch 50+ skylines go through the cross in a row haha

I think a number of your are being unnecessarily negative and bordering on rude to this guy. He's fairly new, he's obviously a keen enthusiast and he's putting some actual effort and thought into organising a cruise.

Maybe instead of shooting him down you could either offer a modification to his plan that you would be interested in or just leave it alone.

For what it's worth, I wont be in Sydney that weekend but if I was I would be thinking that it does sound like most of the journey will be in traffic. Maybe try a 3 or 4 pm start heading across the city to the east, maybe some beaches but avoid Bondi, then continue the way you previously thought. Bondi rd on a sunny day barely moves.

Hmmz. That post took me so long to write I now look like a bandwagoner. :w00t:

Yea I thought you were just lurking and waiting to warn some people..

I was wrong.. You just type like an eagle.. Soaring around till you find the keys lol

    • f**kin' yikes! That insulation is the shittest stuff I have ever seen. You need to do an insurance job on that f**ker, pronto. WRT to the washer cover, I would have said that there'd have to be some at a wrecker, then remembered that it's a BMW, and reasoned that every single wrecked one would have been tailgating and so the front end would be trashed.
    • Oh and I lost my headlight washer jet cover!
    • Ok, so I got myself some X1 wheels really cheap to try out, they're a bit different and I like them but they're really narrow (18x8) they are available in staggered 18x8/9 also but really hard to find.  I kinda dig them, but not as much as the F10 19's I usually run, so these go into the wheel pile.         As I mentioned in another thread, I got a new exhaust. It's an off-the-shelf stainless one that fits OH-KAY. I don't love the tips size and how far they come out the back, I think I might cut the tips off and replace with some smaller (~3") ones that don't extend as far. It sounds really good though, I'm not sure if its just in my head but the car feels a little quicker, more responsive.      I fitted an eBay special front lip. Surprisingly it fit perfectly and all holes lined up. Its a little rickety but I haven't put any double sided tape on yet, I want to clean the front bar up where it has scraped the road a lot and fil in the number plate holes (or, get body coloured wrap to cover them - is this a thing?  I'm not sure if I'll leave it gloss or pain it matte. I really like it though, I don't particularly like the front bar without it, I don't really like the M-Sport and to get anything else is just too expensive. That said, I might need a new one now anyway as I dropped the car onto the jack after forgetting to put ramps under the front wheels. It bent a lot and while it did go back to normal after I got the car off the jack, I do fear I have not done it any favours.    Lastly, my headlights died. Different problems in each. They have gotten much dimmer over the past year or so, I put new (uber expensive) OSRAM bulbs in them but to no avail. One of them pointed at the ground and the other just kinda did its own thing with light working sometimes. Yeah, check this 18 year old BMW headlight wire. I reckon I know why they were stuffed.            BTW, the yellow and black is the power to the Xenons. Yikes. I hunted around an researched my options here. I would have loved to just get a replacement harness but not a thing. My car has adaptive headlights, that is they rotate left and right with the steering wheel. Good condition used adaptive xenons were over $700 each, non adaptive were around $400 each, but I couldn't help but think that they're all around 18 years old now, surely they'd have the same problems. So I looked at newer LCI headlights but they were even more expensive and I couldn't confirm that they'd be plug and play with lots of people having lots of opinions so not worth the risk.  I ended up getting brand new Chinese headlights from MARS. They're very close to OEM with only the angel eyes being a bit different. I didnt want crazy turn signals or sharp DRL's or anything. Not my bag.  They're not adaptive, I thought thats a feature I wouldn't really miss. So I coded that out.  The lights are awesome, they look so nice and they take so many years off the car. The angel eyes look great and the headlight brightness is ridiculous. I was so used to the old ones, I didn't realise just how bad they were. The new ones use the OEM bulbs, Xenon ballast and leveller motor which I was happier with. The only issue with them is that the rear cover is held on by SEVEN screws. This will be a nightmare to get to and open when I need to change bulbs.
    • Now that you mention it I can see those too. More subtle. The lighting and low resolution makes it hard to assess super well what's going on but what is visible is bad enough to pull the motor.
    • I feel like this is due an update
