im definately with all you guys i cant stop looking at it. when i get out of my car i keep looking back just to look at it. i did that at a parking lot the other day and nearly got hit by another car and when im at home i keep looking out the window just to see it, its crazy i think im hypnotyzed by it lol. in fact im hypnotized by all skylines i cant stop looking at them i think i have skyline-itis i might need to go and see a doctor about it.

Good as, i remember when i bought my 32, i couldnt get the smile off my face!!! ... then i got pulled over by the cops over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. Then there was those hundreds apon hundreds spent a few months after just on maintainence... then i hit a wombat then i blew engine and the 8k rb25 upgrade. then it got tuned. right now its back its back in the mechanic for another $700 maintainence after i only got it back like 2 weeks ago with the new engine. then once i get it back, it goes back into another workshop to get the front bar resprayed. Brakes are going to have to be done next as they should be upgraded due to the amount of power it has now.

oh and theres a required fuel pump upgrade followed by another retune.

in short. hope you got some money in your pocket.

But its true, its so worth it, awesome cars!

i got my skyline 2months ago, got it checked out, loved it, clean. First thing i did was put new tyres on rear. so there goes my first 300

and so it felt bit gutless so I took it to get the AFC checked, it was running 155 rwhp! this is when I found out wrong settn was in the AFC and car was running lean..

First tune - $100 and i got a puncture on way ;) so tat was 20bucks

New 040 and re-tune and clean of AFM $550

but i came out 231hp and i had to gap my plugs and then it was running SWEET! :thumbsup: until i got a flaty again on other side of car this time! LOL

then about 1 week later it overheated! waterpump hadnt been replaced when I was told i had been. It cleary hadn't been when I saw the coroded fins and rooted innerseal.

so tat was $380

so in about 1 month I had alleady spent 1400 buks almost. Then i had a depresed day and i spun out on the fwy in the wet and rode the car off.

now i gota get a a NA skrine and swap my gear over and sell the spares and try to make some cash back. Car wasnt insured, didnt have it long enough to save up my premium in advance

well thats my last 2 months.... but hey i still love the look, the handling and smoothness and response and i miss it:P

tonight got pulled over by highway patrol

checked under hood

checked tires

checked ride hieght

then said my p plate was not visible enough.

i used to respect cops, my uncle is one

but ffs

3 pull over in just over a month

getting a lil much!

no i just said, i thought it was visibile

i gotta admit even though i knew i would be in the clear 4 everything, i was pretty dammm scared

on st kilda road. 3 times in a lil over a month. and its not like ive been driving to attract attention when it happens. just driving normal.

the other times were on bridge road and on johnson street.

I'm just puzzled why you'd have a pic of your rego in your sig :P

I wouldn't have thought anything of it, if it was a car pic and you didn't care if your rego was displayed; but what's the point of a dedicated rego pic, in the middle :domokun:

lol i was thinking the same thing.

And you drive alot near the city area, no wonder you get pulled over a lot.

If it was "TUF-733" then i may have said "ok whatever" but there are 999 "TUF" plates :domokun:

the TUF plates were on the car when i bought it.

and i have it there purely just for the "spotted thread" mebbe if someone sees a silver r33 s2 and sees the plates they might make the connection.

And finster you gotta get used to it. Im in the same situation as you, drive slowly, car looks stock, but still get so many 'random' pull overs.

Sillylankan you think its gotta do with driving in the city? I would have assumed it would be worse in the suburbs, with less cars around and cops with nothing to do.

      Yep, that was one of the things we learned fast in the past with our MX5. When you drive with the top down, you are effectively standing out in the sun, 100% of the time, and not getting in any shade (because roads aren't shaded generally!). Just like standing out in the middle of a field on a sunny 27C day is a bit of a bad plan, so is sitting in a MX5 without sun protection.

      I also just ordered some Frankenstein bolts and side mounts to fit a hard top Just in case I do find one, basically so it doesn't need to be fixed to the car with only the front latch.......and then gaffa tape to keep it in place for the RTN journey from wherever I get it

      If your temps are fine now, you probably won't have any issues with where your vents are as they don't look right up at the windscreens high pressure area, so any differences when giving it the beans for extended happy laps would be minimal, but, they should vent heaps when stuck in traffic  Much like how that reverse cowl on my SS let "visible" heat out when stationary, but, because it was basically at the windscreen my coolant temps on the Hwy actually raised because air was being fed into it at speed (110kph), to only come back down to around 90° when I got off the Hwy And your 100% correct about the NC currently not needing vents, but, if I was to add a turbo, and a oil cooler and intercooler in front of the condenserand radiator, and then take it to the track???? It is apparently a recommend requirement if I don't want to worry about coolant or oil temp issues, but, any of the above are possible scenarios, over time As it sits now, with the triple pass radiator and stock air conditioning system, I have absolutely no issues with either temps or air conditioning efficiency, I've been basically daily driving thie car for the last month, both on the Hwy, and peak hour, bumper to bumper traffic, but, that's pretty much expected from basically a standard engine  Talking about no issues daily driving, it was 39° the other day and I was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the M5 and then M7, with the top down, and with the air conditioning blowing nice cold air on my feet, balls, and face, well, there was one issue, my head and arms got pretty sun burnt Note to self: leave a hat and sunscreen in the car for such days 🤣

      I would agree, unless you need something specific to the HV motor/battery side repaired or investigated, any mechanic will be able to perform normal services, but if you prefer, maybe look for a mechanic who regularly services/repairs Nissans, the VQ engines are pretty common in the Nissan lineup.  Sorry, I can't make any suggestions, I don't live in Vic.

      Some of them keep working fine. 9 out of 10 of them end up causing an absolute misery bleeding the system and get thrown on the workshop floor in a tantrum and never thought about again because they were never really needed and just added crap to the car that we could have done without. Same-same with HICAS, A-LSD, and various other stupidities that over eager 10x engineers thought we had to have.
