You guys realise he already has the engine, so there's no point trying to push your opinions on different engines.

you wanna do this as a fun project, and somethig different go for it! But keep the carby i recon...

Thats right wana see how it would go i havent heard of anyone with the old school 302 in a 32 yet so should be fun. Yeah im thinking of keeping the carb at the momment and as for the 25 in it mentioned later thats been done before and the custom work wont matter as me and the old man have done custom before. also i already have the 20 and the 26 so time for a different spin on the nissan

I was thinkin of doing that with one of the new "aluminators" aluminum block 4.6L ford and twin turboing it. Imiagine what it would be like when you punch it at 3000rpm and before it gets to 4000rpm your torque jumps to arround 800 and stays within 50ftlbs of that through the revswith over 1000hp. An R32 to me sorta looks like a 88-93 Mustang but was way nicer and wont twist the car with the stock engine. You just gotta keep in mind that the 5L engine is only good for up to 450hp in good condition but the 4.6 can be pushed to arround 800-1000 absolutely bone stock with the fuel and spark and air to produce that so if you want a high performance machine find a 4.6 out of a 96' + (has to be over 96' or dont bother) and then throw in some 3 or 4 valve a cylinder heads and you'll be ready to suprise a few people.

Though if your not going for high hp then a carburated high compression 302 with a rhoudy cam would be really bad ass to hear that carburated rough idleing v8 under the hood. Hell i was thinkgin of doing the opposit some day and matting a r34GTR tranny/transfercase into a 96-03 mustang make it all wheel drive and twin turbo or Kenne Belle (Kenne Bell or nothin) supercharge it so i'd have pretty much the best of both worlds on street tires.

Hey mate,

I was thinking of using a late model engine either AU xr8 or the BA xr8 engine but as ive already got the 302 floating around mite as well use it i found a supercharger kit for a carby 302 i was only aiming for the 500hp mark outa the old girl wouldnt need much more in a striped out gts as a drift pig.

Would be different hearing the roar of a v8 in the good old 32

Like most engines the modular 4.6 needs a large wad of cash, work and bits thrown at it to make 1000hp. Bone stock isn't a term I'd be using to describe anything but a hand grenade at 1,000hp. If the thing hung together for longer than a week then I expect the main web and bulkheads are going to be cracked quite nicely in due time. Those factory blocks aren't what I'd be starting with for lots of power.

There is no magic brand or type of block that makes 1,000hp cheaply in a small cubic capacity. Thats the rule. The blocks best suited to it are race blocks, usually billet if we are talking 1,000+ hp.

    • You still want a proper tune on the stock ECU though. Stock tune + stock ECU with GT-SS/-9s is probably playing with fire if you're running more than stock airflow/power.

    • Definitely a hearty eater when we go out, I consider these meals my cheat day as I've been watching my calories in and calories out pretty hard since my little fun size stroke, I've gone from a fat boy of 89 Kg, I'm only 165cm tall/short, down to a almost semi lean 73 Kg over the last few years, I'm currently around 17% body fat which my doctor is very happy with, but, my goal is to slowly get down to and maintain 15%,so yeah, I want all of the protein, carbs, fats and sugars when I go out for a binge
    • There was a great one on Victoria Rd in Gladesville too back in the day. I can only assume GTSBoy is thinking of the mill up on the wollondilly, no restaurant there any more but they have restored the original steam engine on site and run it every few months, have an annual steampunk festival etc @The Bogan, you came to the wrong town for restaurants. we have a few reasonable asian and indian options but the Paragon is as good as it gets otherwise. That brewery is apparently just opened, been meaning to give it a go some time. The Highlands have plenty of fancy options but I suspect you are more a hearty eater than fancy eater
