I think it depends on the area you are driving too. Where I live... and usually drive... I don't see too much of this behaviour. Sure it'll happen, but I just ignore it and laugh at the stupidity.

Over the past 5 weeks, however, I've been house sitting for a friend in a totally different area. Now, with the change in where I drive, I've seen a lot more of this. The other day, driving back from work, I had three different people swerving through traffic behind me to catch up, just to get next to me and do the whole 'reving and bouncing forward thing'. When they got no reaction, they just floored it. That was three in half an hour.

Doesn't really bother me though. If they feel they have something to prove, let them do it. At the end of the day, they are the ones who look like d!cks, not you.

... and one other possible cause is the look of your car. Is there something that provokes them. Doesn't have to be aimed at them, but something that makes them think you're up for a race. I had a few more instances when I got my personal plates. I'd say the same thing applys for other mods duch as a GT wing for example.

Only time i was ever pulled over by the cops in the doofmobile, was when i was just pulling into the driveway at work (I'm a Financial Controller, wear a suit n shit  ), and they came up the road, sirens blaring, pulled into the driveway at like 60ks an hour (i do it at about 3)... So i stopped the car, wound the window down, say g'mornin and asked what i can do for them... They said there was an armed robbery a few hours ago (like 4am), and my car matched the description... I said, well, I just woke up... I dont think its me you're looking for... They said, yeah, you're right... and left...

It wasn't until later in the office, i heard it was a white club spec WRX that they were after... Anyone elses skyline look like a club spec WRX?

Never been dragged either... one guy wanted to, revved and motioned, I declined, and he was polite about it  Nice guy :(

Obviously, I'm not really into racing, and i think that shows... Dunno why everyone else gets surrounded by dickheads on the road...

cos ur plates read doof maybe sum1 will have a sound off at the lights wif ya one day lol

i only got pulled over once in my skyline, and that was for a RBT. and i know why they did it too. i think in about 20 mins of driving around that night i saw about 10 cars, so the cops would've pulled over any car they saw to try and reach their quota.

i have noticed that there are plenty of 'bogan' driving skylines now. the amount of former commodore drivers i see in imports now makes me glad i no longer own 1. they are the new commodore. sure you will still get plenty of bogans in commodores, since not all of them can afford skylines, but skylines are getting dirt cheap now so you are going to get any man and his dog driving them.

I've also noticed a lot of people driving regular day-to-day cars seem to go out of there way to go faster than me while driving. Especially off the lights.. I always wonder if they feel there car is better when I let them get in front of me..

driving it around like a ricer, simply means reving it and all that bs you dont need to do.

ie drive it like like its a normal car with no power and ur right

but yeah as others have said in over 6 years of ownership, i havent had half the dramas you have ;)

Hey guys,

yeah like i said at the begining of the thread, its my thoughts on image this car has. Ofcourse it is logic that the Skyline intimidates people who are gullible to race on the public road , and these are the F2ckers that ruin it for us.

I just wish people could learn from others mistakes, but as humnan nature has it, we learn the hard way.

Thanks for all your thoughts and the maturity behind them. I can now show my girl that the Skyline brother hood isnt all made up off barbarians. ;)

And i realy wanna tag along on these Skyline cruises that are organised. Im in the heart of Sydney city CBD.
