aaron has again disappointed me.

ive just received an email saying that he didnt want me to take it to GCG for them to strip the turbo, and this has voided my warranty.

i have no option than to sue, right?

Wait on, who told you to go to GCG in the first place?

after hearing that a friend of mine had his sliding turbo fail, the oil problem really started to worry me, so i pulled it off and sent it to GCG under aaron's instructions, as he told my friend to do also.

aaron did.

he specifically told me to go to GCG, this is the exact line he used from our msn conversation.

bits were removed as to not let too much of aaron's situation out.

Common man, fair go... Slide was offering a cheap service and he's offering to repair the turbo for you. I wouldn't sue but that's me, how do you know it wasn't how you installed it or oil line mods that made the turbo fail?!?!

I've got a slide hiflow, no complaints. I'm sure proportionally the amount that have failed to the amount that have not would favour heavily towards not failing.

Our warranty procedure is pretty clear in that the item must be returned back to base for any work to be done.

The item is still under warranty Joe and warranty on the turbocharger is still available though in most circumstances if the turbo has been pulled down alot of things can be changed that in the repair would not usually be viewable and this would generally void warranty.

The turbocharger had been sent back to the shop before where it was pulled down and there was no problems at all other then reported.

We advised that you take the turbo to a local shop as you did not want to send it all the way up to the shop in QLD for us to view it for it to only be reported that it was not faulty as it was last time as you needed your car on the road.

If GCG have advised that a repair is required then under warranty Murnane Motors must be the shop to do the repair to it.

All warranty return procedures are listed on the website and have been there since its inception.

You have been advised via email on the warranty procedure.

If you would like a refund on the item then that is available for the purchase price less postage and housings as advised also via email to retrieve from Murnane Motors which i doubt would be a problem though if you just ask the manufacturer im sure they would give you a straight answer.

It does seem as if you just don't want to send the turbo back.

The warranty procedures are common practice amongst all manufacturers in that they must be returned to the manufacturer for repair.

if it was a way that i installed it then there would be scores on the shaft from oil starvation, or oil contamination. GCG have stated that there is no scoring or oil contamination.

i've installed plenty of these turbos and have not gone wrong.

he just told me by email that my warranty is VOID because GCG had opened up the turbo.

you told me to take it to GCG because you have no workshop. i have you telling me this in an msn conversation which i kept the logs of (and which i removed from the conversation i pasted above).

i have no problems with them doing the repair as i said earlier, but you told me that i pretty much voided my warranty by having GCG inspect the turbo WHICH YOU ADVISED ME TO DO.

No wonder Joe doesn't want to send it to Murnane when 1 - he's never heard of them before, up until today 2 - his contract is with SP and 3 - they've 'repaired' it once already!

sounds like your angry about the sit and not thinking straight get the thing fixed for free and resell it

I dont see how you'll loose any cash apart from postage the $75 and second install time

which probably adds up to under $300 is it really worth the agro

Just a bit out of the blue here but Slide are the Seller just like if my Panasonic copier craps itself, panasonic dont fix it the repair agent does (not panasonic), just like if a Sony tape drive fails i send it back to a company in brisbane (not sony) for them to repair it.

This procedure of sending the Turbo back to Murnan is normal, thats who built it thats who needs to fix it, if slide sell the turbo as a "slide turbo" thats fine, warranty Can if they choose go to slide then they send it onto Murnane, its quicker for you to send it to these guys directly.

As for the whole sueing bit, the only obligation slide would have to you is to send your turbo back to Murnane thats it, for warranty repair, if you have not as of yet sent it to them there is no case, I can see you would be annoyed if Aaron told you to take it to gcg withour telling you that you would ware the cost or it may void warranty, that is a big mistake if this is true.

Send it back get it repaired under warranty, make sure they know who you are in case you have future issues, share your concerns with murnane so you know they will take extra care on the job and if it craps itself again then you have a case to get a refund (maybe not full) or call fair trading, but you must give the normal warranty procedures a go first.

And most good jap parts are now made in china buy a guy paid $1.43 a week working out of his barn with his wife lol (quality aint what it used to be)

Don't you have a one off, one of a kind 34 type hi-flow with a larger exhaust housing? Or was that someone else...

Either way, I reckon take the list from GCG, get a free fix under warranty, have GCG check it out at the end...

But sup to you really...

HKS dont build thier turbos, Garrett does and HKS markets them..same deal here Slide markets them and the other mob makes them but yeah sonds like a screw around I would be wanting my cash back too and be done with it

yea lol like the time i complained my hiflow wouldnt line up and i had to line up the housings.

And i was at fault for "bending the oil lines". load of crap. now im "banned from dealing with sliding performance" lmao. like i care..

want real service talk to Amec :wub:

cheap and reliable turbos too :cool:
