Hey there,

Just having a look at where the leak is coming from, it seems it's more on the drivers side of the car, I think it may be a heater hose.

It's leaking onto the starter motor, then onto the gearbox which is making it drip a little further to the passenger side.

I just wanted to know, has anyone had this problem before? I heard its a common issue with the R33's - whats the best way to fix it?

dash out is probably less fiddly than trying to leave it in.

bypass the heaters lines within the engine bay by linking them together with some copper pipe, then buy yourself a new core.

Then do a search in the Gen Maintenance section and DIY section for a guide on how to replace the core.

tricky thing about that part of the engine is that there are alot of coolant hoses under the plenum as well as the heater hoses.

check out the heater hoses first as theyre easier to get to.

just look out for the hose with the most chalky residue on it, look for a split in it and go from there.

as for getting under the floor mats, it usually is a broken heater core that leaks into this area. some people have gotten away without ripping the dash out but its a little fiddly as the heater core sits right behind the centre console up against the firewall.

I just read this thread.. yes you got shafted .. you have to remove the starter and put it on a hoist and get a seriously long rachet peice with a rotating head ... takes about 2hours but I had to replace the actual heater metal rail, harder than any damn heater hose which I could change with my arm and plyers..

I'd hit up those mechanics for dodgy bullshit mate.. if they do it that way tell them to f**k it up again and leavelol.0

may i further add you just have to drop the box support and rotate the engine with a jack if they want to do it that way .. so again i prove them wrong.

Btw to the first post, it sounds exactly like what I had .. metal rail or the coolant line on the rail .. its sitting under the plenum check whats leaking first .. put it on a hoist
