well i did kinda spot the skylines all together in the sheds, but that wasn't where the map said everyone would be and didn't seem to be much people and no BBQ from what i could see plus seeing all the skylines showing up then leaving didn't help either oh well im sure people are keen about this club to start up maybe better luck next time aye

Maybe when keeping track of a thread it helps if you actually read what people post so you dont sound like a dick when saying people didnt say that

can we set the BBQ up anywhere we like I'm thinking near the mount on the entrance to the main straight?

post-13315-1193269070_thumb.jpg

You could do Steve, BUT id suggest just setting it up in the pits as there is a official lunch time, which will suit the people driving, and besides during the "lunch time" there will be nothing on the track, so sitting on the mound/hill with nothing on the track would seem pointless!!

Check that map you put up Steve........ Must be Skaifes racing lines! Check turn 3, there in the inside blocking from half way down the pit wall......LOL GHEY!!

Darren you know how you come from the pits then up some wooden sleepers onto a grass section tbefore fence for track what about there and where can commoners park i dont want to be carrying bbq for miles to get there can i park up near pits
Yeh mate sounds like a plan........ on a Practise day mate you can park right up in the pits if you like, Nobody controls the pit gate on Prac days, I would suggest to some of the others to park in the pits also, but still making it accessable for the people(also non SAU people) that are driving, mind you there is plenty of room for everyone!!

was an awesome day on sat

weather was pretty good too

pitty about the dam flies

did 3 sessions, got 170ks out of my full tank and was fun chasing matty in the GTR and vise versa.

good to meet a few of you and sadly that will be my last track day

cheers

Next time something like this needs to be organized, it should be a "pay in advance" thing, otherwise, theres always going to be timewasters that wreck it for the rest, especially for guys like Steve who went to the trouble of buying all this stuff for everyone.

nah not sold yet, but too much wear on tyres, and dont want to buy new ones before i sell it, also getting front bar painted

mmm ill sell the wheels with the car, so you can have them for 31k lol

I went and met a few ppl parked on the grass..I dont have the net at home so I couldnt put my name down on the list...I said hello to the bbq peeps...didnt know anyone...felt kinda awkward cos no-one spoke to me...then left.

Sorry Bud. :P

I can't remember who you were; it wasn't intentional just every one was wrapped up in their own little drama of getting the BBQ sorted. :P

I thought we were going to be having sauce on bread for a little while there.

If i'd have known I could have helped cos I live 10mins from Mallala and have loads of stuff at home!

yeah i remeber you ontheranch very shy looking girl due to not knowing us and when you came and said hello the only thing on my mind wasnt meeting people sorry it was cooking for 30 hungry people which didnt show and a few of them left i suspect not to worry

you would of been more than welcome even though the whole thread i had been saying you don't say your coming you don't eat 2 the last min had a couple of RESPONSIBLE people tell me they weren't comming

not to worry if an event like this gets undertaken in the future a pay as you think you will eat deposit will be taken or no one gets anything

well thats the end of my rant if you could call it that

My mates and I got there a bit early so we checked out the practise. Initially we couldn't come because I had other things on and I had to pull out of the BBQ. We were really there to meet up with the whole SAU community and to say hi. So yea I was the asian dude that said hi to you (Madaz) but sorry if we didn't help out because we had to leg it early.

Saw some mad cars and the 2 GTRs were the highlight of the day.

Hey people , forget about the bbq(sorry steve) how was the track day ? . A mate by the name jason headed out there in his red 32GTR s2 vspec and said that it looked pretty good out there , especially the 2 GTR's getting around. His only thought was about the guy in the honda ($5000 car) who didnt seem to be worried about the yellow flags, and went flying past the 2 GTR's oblivious in his own world. Saying that, I would be hesitant about putting a $30,000 value car out on the track with dic# heads like that on the tarmac. (touch my car , I KILL YOU) LOL

He isnt on the forum because his computer isnt online , but said if there was another day , he would be in .

Sounded like a great start for the SAU sa section to me .

Unfortunatley I couldn't make it even though I was on holidays. The wife had her list of jobs for me to do (pergola)

and I had to watch the weather come in and pi#$ me off , thinking of you guys made me feel better though LOL

As far as the bbq though , maybe next time some one can bring a sheet and make an SAU banner (sauce even) LOL

so people can find you.

end of rant :P

I didn't think it would be that hard to find really... Skylines Australia club, so look for skylines... Bah, too late.

Anyway, I'll be organising another day as soon as Mallala releases the dates of next year's practices. Will make another thread when I know. Plenty of notice this time :P

ROFL i agree you don't go looking for commodore's when looking for a skyline club

but yes im over it now next time a $2 deposit will be taken before planing a BBQ

^^^That he did, had pretty high speeds through turn 1 that's for sure.

Also thought the guy in the Echo was pretty decent, and entertaining to watch :ermm:

that was my blue gtr parked behind the vspec and that damn pickup truck near ya. thats 1 clean 32 he's got.

ill be out for the next one, so drive near me cause i dont want any hero's that just watched days of thunder trying to pass me on the high on turn 3. i just wanna have a bit of a play on the corners n test out how my car handles. just gota find a helmet that will fit my oversized head and im good to go :teehee:

i didnt actually see the skyline club out there racing cause i had to go early but from what i seen from the other cars out there they were all pretty well behaved cept a falcon and a vk nearly colliding trying to drift in the chicane near the pits but they were worthless piles anyway.

I just ran some injector cleaner through her. started roughly the first time after adding it but gave it the beans slowly upto 4k, Must have cleaned a few cobwebs out. another step in the right direction for the sub
    • Sadly I can confirm if you are actually seeking to drift, you will quite easily spin up one wheel. Even if you're going in a straight line. I am not entirely sure of the metrics/terminology here but there's only a certain amount that the helical will actually spin both wheels. I've seen it on video with my own car where two lines of smoke switch over to just one after you really get in to it. Unlike with a clutch diff where you can keep your foot planted until the car regains grip, in my experience with the helical you want to be utilizing traction control allowing LIMITED slip or lifting (partially) when you start to spin up both tyres with a Nissan helical. Which makes them pretty sub optimal for drifting duty. That said... this is probably a helical on numbers alone. Just put the Kazz in
    • Let's just fix the problem by f**king the rest of the gearbox.
    • Unlikely, as per Greg's post. This is not helical diff behaviour unless one wheel is up off the ground. Shimming what? You don't "shim" a mechanical LSD. Probably not in the sense that you have heard of people "shimming" a diff. And the process that Nissan f**kwits call "shimming" a diff involves super-preloading a VLSD cartridge against the side of the diff to create a friction/wear point (in a place that it wasn't supposed to have one) to make the sloppy, useless, viscous diff into a hybrid viscous/mech abortion. In case it isn't clear, I consider the process to be stupid. Nike.
