Hey guys

Have a RB25DET sitting in storage and I want to pull the flywheel off the motor. Just wondering if anyone could please tell me what size the nut at the front of the motor is, so I can buy a socket big enough to keep it in place?

Thanks for the help

Bren

I can't remember the size off the top of my head but you don't need to hold the front of the crank to undo the flywheel bolts.

Put a gearbox bolt in the block (near the engine number) and rest a small socket, end on, on the bolt and lean the socket so it jams a tooth on the starter ring stopping the flywheel turning anti- clockwise.

When tightening the flywheel bolts do the same thing on the other side of the flywheel.

Works a treat.

rb25 is 27mm.

getting the bolt loose is a matter of a breaker bar levering it so when the engine clicks over (cranking it) it will loosen the bolt.

getting the balancer off will need a balancer puller. a long screw driver will damage the balancer.
