Rb20de/rb20det Redtop Crank,rods Same As Silver Top Rb20det?

Hi!

Need to confirm that as soon as possible.

Friends car crank got f**ked, oil starvation.

He can get silver top rb20de crank/rods or redtop rb20det crank/rods to put into his sivlertop rb20det.

What is the best choice ? And are pistons from redtop/silver top interchangeable or the piston crowns are different? What about rb20de one ?

u can use the redtop crank, rods and pistons...dont use the rb20de pistons as they give a different (higher) compression ratio, not the best for turbo applications...the word is u cant use the redtop block with a silvertop head, oil galleries are slightly different...have seen it myself but thats what i have researched...

Just swap it out for a silvertop.

They are cheap as chips, and that way you'll get a new loom aswell as the red-top looms are failing left, right and centre with far too many electrical issues as they are 20+ years onld now.

yep as mentioned its interchangeable except for the red top block. If your just using rods/crank should be fine.
