on there site they were $206

they said: You are looking at around $70 to air freight the D12's to Aust and you would

need to allow 3-10 days (as quoted by NZ Post).

i think if you check their site in NZD they state NZD$275, i think their converter is out of date.

ill be in as well EUG depending on price.

january sounds good so i got some time to save woo!

^ i was quoted by coby in NZ $310 delivered.

i am not sure why everyone has been given different prices. i have been given a figure of $NZD250 (for extractors including gasket), we are negotiating the freight options.

if you can get them for NZD$310 delivered, then there's no real need for the group buy. go for it i say! you'd only be saving $10-20 with the GB.

however i will keep everyone advised as the info comes to me.

greg! i remember those ghetto aluminum foil pics! haha...

with the current prices being offered for hp coating, i'd personally advise against it - even though i do rate it.

here's the amended prices with MicR33 pulling out, response as follows;

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

d12 extractors AUD$205

gaskets AUD$10

international air freight (3-10 days*) AUD$70

international economy (10-25 days*) AUD$60

*working days

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

judging by the quotes you guys got, it's about a AUD$50~80 saving.

i am awaiting confirmation on the variable outlet sizes and choice in colours.

let me know how everyone wishes to proceed, and this should be the first on order for the new year.

so its $285 all up.. Will it cost anymore to get them to W.A?

just let us know when you need the deposit etc.

cheers

Karl

correct, they are delivered from NZ straight to your door and won't cost anymore than stated - this minimizes hassles.

i won't ask for a deposit until i get a solid confirmation from everyone.

this is what they look like in the standard coby orange paint.

post-9983-1193984439_thumb.jpg

also i have requested an option in outlet sizes of 2.25" or 2.50", as well as an option of black or orange, like last time it should be free (i will confirm). so regardless of your catback size, we should be able to work something out.

as i get a good to go from everyone here, i will set up a thread in the GB section and we can go from there.

no worries, they are pretty difficult to get if no one can organize them. figure that helping everyone out is the least i can do.

if you guys give me more people, it will give me more leverage to bargin with. i had 6-7 people per buy last round. here we are struggling to make 4.

the headers themselves are a bargin, it's the freight that's the killer - they still work out in the end.

it could be cheaper to get them all shipped to one location (i.e. me), but then the cost and time involved for me to send them to everyone individually would just be a nightmare.

hi, i will prob also get some, just wondering its 285 for everything for rb25? and does anyone know around how much they cost to get fitted?

$285 will get you a d12 extractor (suitable for rb20 and rb25) and gasket with estimated 3-10 working day delivery from partsco to your front door.

fitment depends on how mechanically minded you are. they are easy to fit yourself, and if you can weld even better. otherwise it depends on the going rate of your local exhaust shop. i had mine fitted for $250 (including new flange, gasket, new head studs).

where abouts in melbourne are you in...im located s.e suburbs so if its cheaper for me to pick them up then i will if it means saving $$$ but yeah hopefully we get 6+ buyers im sure it will get more attention in the GB section.

where do you buy the new head studs, flange and gaskets from? Will most exhaust shops have what we need?

i know a 2.5inch gasket is easy to come buy but its the head studs im really asking about.

I dont see the point in the different colour choice as most people will get them heat wrapped or coated anyway..

anyway, big thumbs up to eug, its exiting to see progress. :w00t:

who said i was located in melbourne? :w00t: no one is picking anything up from me, even in the last buy brisbane'rs had them delivered to their doorstep, it will cost the same individually to get to me as it does directly to you.

i was implying that if they ALL got sent to me, i.e. on a crate or something - then there might be some savings.

if you'd like to get some cheaper prices, try to find some more buyers so i have grounds to bargin with them.

head studs can be bought from any exhaust shop (even nissan i believe). flange and gaskets also from the exhaust shop.

correct, any half decent workshop will be able to supply everything, even the gasket glue.

if you want to save some dosh, remove your old headers - fit the new headers on and mark where you'd want the new flange to be in relation to the cat. remove it all and bring it to an exhaust shop (or even someone who knows how to tig) and bob's your uncle. apart from the welding, it's all bolt in bolt out.

i would have done it myself too, but what would have taken them a couple of hours on the hoist would have taken me a day.

there might have been issues previously with the orange paint melting off (greg? can you elaborate here). some people didn't get them heat wrapped nor hp coated, and would rather a black set of headers than orange - i'm still negotiating if it'll be free, a minor issue really.

i don't do things by halves karl :)

yes.. Im in.. deffinately..

If we receive them mid-late Jan.. I may be able to save and get some sort of ECU sorted out and funded to afford a re-tune too :ninja:

I have a feeling that heat wrapping those headers is going to be a BIATCH!

ok, that's 4... will everyone be ready with the group buy running till early-mid decemeber. (that way we dont have people pulling out afterwards saying they are poor from christmas?)

we can place the order and fingers crossed, timing it correctly we should just sneak in after the christmas rush.

    • So next year I am looking at upgrading from my VE SS bomadore ute to something more refined.  I wanted to stick with a V8 but not anything German or Australian, either a coupe or a sedan. So if I wanted anything newish that limited my options to either the Lexus RCF which I quite like. But with the price they demand and a kid on the way a 2 door coupe is probably not going to be the best idea. The next best thing would be the ISF but the newest models are 2014 and commanding over 60k and even the older 2008 models in ok condition starting around 35k is kind of bullshit. So I figured if I could not have the noise I could perhaps make do with easy power. Enter the infinity Q50 or Skyline equivalent. The price difference between the 300 and 400hp models seems a bit crazy. Right now there is 300hp Q50 one on carsales from a dealer with 61km for 27k drive away. If I wanted to get a 400hp Red or 400R car the prices seem to start at 43k From my limited research it seems that the only differences are that the 400r/Red Red runs more boost and a more aggressive tune. There are are turbine speed sensors on the turbos. Has 2 pumps for the water to air intercooler. Runs an engine oil cooler. I'm guessing that the exterior trims might look a little more sporty as well. I had a lazy look for upgrades to bridge the gap on z1motorsports They have kits that upgrade the water to air heat exchanger as well as the coolant pump which should give a non Red/400r better intercooling temps than the stock Red/400r. I added an engine oil cooler with a thermostat as well to try and make things as close as possible. Obviously the ECU is going to need a tickle. Having not done much in the way of research they also sell a ECU flashing tool with pre loaded tunes that are supposed to boost the non Red/400R by 100hp which adds 1k USD to the cost. The total cost of the parts @ the current time including shipping and taxes worked out to be $4350 AUD. Personally I would rather get the car tuned on a dyno which would probably add more cost Assuming the worst that you got a workshop to install the new parts I would guess no more than 5 hours would be required in the worst case @ 5 x $150 per hour = $750 So the total cost could be around $5100 So for easy number 5k + 27K = 32k I guess that would leave some change left over to swap out the open diff and fit a LSD Any thoughts?
    • Right, not sure why I thought it to be a lean spike. It might be fixable with modern card-style hot film MAFs which have some design features to avoid counting reversion flow but I've never tried it myself.
