hey i just bought replica rs bov, for my '96 r33 skyline, and i put it in last nit at my mates, we drilled new holes onto the stock cross over piping, exactly wer the stock bov goes, and mounted it there with know problems and no leaks!

took for a few runs, adjust the hardness & softness of the new bov.. got it about rit..

so i drove home fine!

the only thing that i noticed was that wen down gear and clutch was all the way in, and i didnt release it, the revs would drop from 1500rpms to bout 100rpms, but didnt stall, and den went back up to normal idle revs, lik 500-600rpms...

PROBLEM:

so i got in my car dis morin, drove to my other mates place, who lives bout 2ks away, and was all fine!

then wen i left i got to bout 2000rpm, and it felt like it was bunny hopping! or sumthing??

MY MODS:

i just got a new (afc)apexi neo fitted and tuned,(at 500rpm/1000rpm my correction is -8%. etc..)

front mount intecooler, splitfire coilpacks, re-gapped .6mm spark-plugs,

turbo-tech boost controller/bleed valve, HKS 3" cat-back exhaust.

IDEAS:

new bov needs to tighten(all the way to hard setting)??

afc correction to lean?needs to be adjusted..???

afm??how often do these r33 afm fail, go fautly??

on the back of the bov's there a vac. line that connects to the intake manifold,

should this pipe be a certain min/max diameter, length? if so how long and thick?

any ideas would help...

I had this problem when I installed a HKS SSQ BOV, all I did was reset the ECU, turn my car on and let it idle for like 20 minutes... then turn it off, left it for a few hours then drove off - not a problem ever since.

Try it before you do anything else.

As said above, its a common problem with atmo BOV's on the skylines. Something to do with how much air is being measured by the AFm and then how much is actually making it to the engine. Loose the BOV or get a new ECU. It's up to you.

You dont need a new ecu. You should be able to tune it via the apexi neo.

Get the manual out, hopefully translated in english then look up [decel-air] function . follow everystep correctly then you'll be rite.

found out it was my apexi neo..tuned wrong?? wrong settings??

after 2days my car sensor decided to go on..lol

like the knock sensor??i think

it prevent my engine for blowing-up..thank god..

so i had to reset the afc to drive..

i got it re-tuned by a diff. tuning place..

found out my o2 sensor was faulty, and i needed a new one

got a new one, runs beta no more stalling..

but did use a bit of fuel..

they used diff. air map settings... so i changed some of the settings..

now runs like my first tune but evan beta.. NO more stalling and fells really good..

any good aftermarket senor computers??

apart from a power fc...like piggy-back sensors computers or something lik that..

Very popular in Supras and just starting to become so in Rb25det Skylines since the PFC's ceased to be made, theyre also half the price and you dont need a hand controller to tune them. There excellent, they can do pretty much everything i.e. you can mix and match presets to diff. cars i.e. Z32 AFM on WRX etc. Injectors etc. and you can also tune it yourself with a laptop. If you get the pressure switch, you dont even need an AFM. Updates are firmware flashes so upgrades are free, and theyre programmable i.e. there are programs out there already on it that will do an auto-tune

This will also correct your problem with ATMO BOV.

Dont quote me to this, but I believe the only stupid restriction is upto 50% larger injectors i.e. upto 550-580ccs (good for 300+rwkw easy)

Where can I get one? how much?

http://www.emanageforums.com/ has info on them

Any decent tuner will have them, Greddy supplier etc. Try the traders section on here

About 500$ for computer, another 300$ for pnp looms etc.

Power FC is double that, and no longer made anymore

I think that also includes pressure switch, so you can throw away your AFM and save money on that upgrade, you dont need it anymore
