hi all,

a mate of mine is doin a build up on his r33 and we need to know if there is any off the shelf twin turbo manifolds to suit rb25. b4 u all start sayin "put a RB26 in it", or "just use a single turbo setup" he already has built the engine and has purchased turbos. if there isnt anything available he is just gonna have some made.

As far as im aware there isn't anything of the shelf available but it shouldnt cost too much to have one made up. There's a few RB25's running twin turbos on the forums, do a quick search for some threads and PM the owners of the cars and ask them.

Hope that helps.

yeah i did a search, but couldn't find any info on off the shelf gear. thats y i asked. r the oem RB26 manifolds cast or fabricated??

edit: RB26 is cast. i guess u could buy one of those aftermarket stainless manifolds for a 26 and change the flanges to suit. it would look alot neater than a cut'n'shut oem manifold.

someone should do one of those sticky threads about twin turbo 25s. there seems to be alot of interest in it, and the questions r always the same.

    • I definitely agree with you there - I never click on content for cars I would never ever be able to get or compete with/against/be seen next to. Seeing a MX5 compete with a FD RX7 will make people upset though, for sure. Even in 2.5L Turbo form which is pretty grass roots. (or at least as grass roots as classic cars can be) Yes we're all classic car owners now.
    • Wonder what the cause is, but here's hoping it's nothing too serious.
    • People don't always want builds that are overly expensive, or have engineering/registration/insurance issues and head aches that come with them Whilst big dollar builds, and complicated stuff is interesting to watch, there is only a tiny % of people who would actually use this information, or have the spare finances to drop on said builds, whereas the buy a cheap(ish) cool car, and make it better, with a average budget, that the average Joe or Jane could achieve will always be a winner in my opinion
    • Bit of a thread revival, you mentioned wanting a bit more top end before, do you regret not going with the 1.01?
    • It's kind of interesting - They definitely do builds that split the difference between what they like and what will generate views and engagement. The NC Platform always surprises everyone in a good way, in an uncomfortably good way some may say. They could throw a LS in there and arguably have the best (and best performing) car of the entire stable. But that isn't necessarily what draws views, because people viewing don't want to accept the vegetables of a LS NC MX5 being a superior vehicle in every way (including fun) than a RB26 240Z. This is also why there's not a lot of content about the GR Yaris (on the web in general). They're too good, yet 'only a Yaris' The community doesn't want certain cars to be as good as they are - to beat their hero cars, and I believe the NC MX5 is absolutely one of those cars.
