I have a minor problem with my r33 gtst. Basically when I push the cutch in the revs will drop as normal but then hover around 1200rpm for a few seconds before dropping to the idle rpm. Its not really causing any dramas but I am unsure if this is normal or wat. Do these engines somes kind idle speed control solenoid? Anyone else had any similar problems or any suggestions as to what could be at fault here. I have recently cleaned the AAC valve and the throttle body and reset the computer and did not make any difference.

Cheers in advance

Depending on your model R33 (pretty sure its series dependent) there is an idle adjustment knob on the back of the ECU. There will be an idle adjustment screw on the AAC (turn left to increase rpm, right to decrease) aswell.

Have a look at the AAC cleaning tutorial for info on how to set the two correctly.

Locating the cause and fixing it i have no idea about :)

I know on RB26, there are a few little adjustment screws on the butterfly's(Uh!!). I ripped mine out, but I an using aftermarket ECU.

that way all the "Flaps are shut as far as, then I just used the master one on the throttle cable mount to regulate it so the ECU could get a grip with it all again.

It worked..!
