Hey,

Just in Osaka atm, and we have a 7 day jr railpass, that we are going to use to get around to hiroshima, and tokyo, kyoto, etc.

I need to know if I can use the rail pass on the Osaka subway lines.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

as far as i know, that pass covers only the JR lines and is NOT usable for the subway.

a simple google search with the words like "JR rail pass subway" came up with the answer withing 10 seconds.

ofcourse, we are here to help but you can help yourself too!

enjoy your trip. Hiroshima was an awesome experience...Kyoto maybe even more so!

by the way, individual trips on the subway are inexpensive anyway so dont worry. Besides, most of Japan can be covered ABOVE ground easily, so you wont really need to venture under.

have a safe trip.

Adam

Thanks Adam.

I did check google and even searched this site first! Thanks for your concern about flooding the internet with usless posts. (Right back at ya, smart arse!!)

However, it appears you are right. You cannot use the jr rail pass on the subway.

I did find google to be quite useless in finding a quick answer, and found that wikipedia was much more helpful. Also found out the that osaka loop line will take me where I want to go.

Just went down to Umeda, very nice.

Cheers for the info

Chris

Just for future reference, I attached railmaps for Osaka and Tokyo. The Osaka one is much more useful.

The following website is fantastic for finding your way around
