In my old car, used extension cord for amp wiring, ignition stopped working- so i bypassed it and just put a switch on the dash.

only ghetto mod on the line is a plastic cap from a tin blocking off the BOV return line

good thread!

got my snapped trust front bar held together by 50+ cable ties PLUS a few more to hold the car up + cable ties used to hold the indicators onto the bar.. oh and ive got my sideskirts stiched up as well with another 15 or so cable ties..

and yep used a good ol' coke bottle lid to block off the recirculation for the flutter...the lid out now btw but the cable tied bar is here to stay! lol

I'm currently making a battery terminal for my Skyline using nothing but 2 25x125 pieces of 3mm aluminium, a 500mm length of super flexible 25sqrmm cable (stock looks to be around 16sqrmm) and 3 M8x35mm bolts. If it works, I'm posting up pics. If it doesn't, I'm deleting this post and buying a bigger battery with bigger posts :(

Booze + me going West Coast Customs on my car usually means disaster... :glare: which reminds me, I'm thirsty...

Rigorous testing of cable ties has recently been conducted and proven that they are able to withstand speeds of up to 263km/hr when being used for the purpose of holding together ghetto body kits.

Haha. Great link.

Nothing ghetto on my Skyline, I learnt my lesson on my previous cars.

My first car was an E30 BMW. The stereo install on that was just so so bad. I never actually got around to securing the amp and sub in the boot, so they would just slide about all the time. I forced my 6.5" splits into 5" mounts by using long screws and angling them into the holes. The speakers ended up sitting out from the mount about 3cms, but they hung in there (most of the time). But the worst was the headunit. I couldn't be bothered taking off the whole dash to mount it properly, so it just sat loose in the dash wish Blu-Tac jammed down either side of it to try and get it to stop sliding out onto the gearstick whenever I had to slow down.

I loved that car.

But I love cable ties more.

on my old car the bonnet flew up while driving cause the bonnet latch was broken, i had no cable ties so i pulled the wiring from my cd player and tied my bonnet down.

That ain't ghetto,,thats McGuyver

lol, i had to drive for an hour back home with no tunes

longest trip ever!!!!!!!

Atleast your probly handy enough to fix it yourself.,as i've probly already posted in this thread...

my head unit is hooked up through my headlights = tunes only when lights are on.

fixed it by stealing the missus's iriver + external speakers.LoL
