Louie from Xclusive Colours has contacted us to let us know that he has finally settled into his new shop. He has been a good supporter of the Club and for that matter of the members of the forums too really.

Louie does absolutely top quality work with many autosalon winners to his name and yet for some reason is actually quite cheap. He can also do all insurance work and will work closely with you to make sure you get the best outcome from the insurance companies as possible.

On top of all this he is a really nice guy as well and has had mucho bad luck with business partners and landlords in the past. He has now signed an 8 year lease so he can finally settle down and do what he does best, paint cars.

His new address is 12 Cumberland Hwy, Smithfield and phone number 9756 6797.

We are just working on some sort of deal that can be offered, something like a full body kit painted for $X or maybe front bar and bonnet for $Y to get rid of stone chips. We will get back to you shortly about this, feel free to suggest something. If you're worried about colour matching don't be, I used to work in this industry and Louie is the best colour matcher I have ever seen.

There is no disclaimer to this thread. I am not getting anything out of this and neither is the club. If you go to him for some work, make sure you tell Louie you found him here.

Cheers.

Something that may help find it.

Its right next to Hungry Jacks, and the building is a pink type colour.

Seconding what adam has said about louie, he's very helpful and the cars that he produces are amazing.

ill head down to see him soon to get a quote to have my sideskirts painted.

i heard he has reasonable prices too, and moving to smithfield (cheaper rent) should be better??

my colour is freaking hard to match though.

haha you think ur color is hard to match joe????

man try mine.. i want to respray my front bar and mirrors, to rid it of stone chips, it isnt too bad so i dont want to risk making it look diff to the rest of the car.... stupid MP2 :)

might go see him one day soon, see wat he says and wat he might be able to do with it

haha ok you win!

but theres so many shades of my colour, its easy to get it wrong.

ill see how he goes anyway.

hey charlie... i have enquired about it.. the MP2 and MP3 are both hard to get... its some sort of water based paint not everywhere make it..

Its not about that anyways, its mainly getting it to reflect the same as the rest of the car, as in if u paint only the front bar it may look completely different. specially in the sun. If you see my car up close u will understand wat i mean.

Mass,

Yeah, it is all in the application for such paintwork and it must be done by someone that is skilled. No Bunnings special mini compressor + spray kit job on this one :P

btw, I have both MP2 and 3 colour mix recipe's if required. They are 'chromulsion' based paints and required a real pro to apply.

hahaha yeh i know charlie :P

have u seen mansoors engine bay?

i havent been back to see it finished, i hope it turned out ok... was a little dark, but she looked ok i think... he is happy.

LoL... how long has it been sammeh? At least a year :P

I was about to say that....almost as bad as stevo getting the engine rebuilt.

Yeah ditto on the bodykit spray thing....and the side skirt quote.

hey Joe $200 is ok man... it will cost you more to buy ur own gun and compressor.. plus it wont be easy to spray if you havent done it before... also you will need a pretty good gun, not s cheapo, makes a huge difference.

    • Yes...but look at the numbers. There is a tiny tiny fraction of the number of Joules available, compared to what is used/needed. Just because things are "possible" doesn't make them meaningful.
    • Thanks for taking the time to post that ! If anything changes or happens please do update us.
    • Somehow Vertimass/Oak Ridge National Labs has figured out a catalyst that can convert ethanol into C9-C10 hydrocarbons in basically a single step without ending up with a bunch of ethylene or similar waste products: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2023224867A1/en I still don't think anything like this will keep us from needing to transition to EVs regardless along with all kinds of other electrification, but things like this will go a long way towards alleviating the problem of how to electrify things like planes. Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
