Hi everyone,

I currently have an aftermarket radiator, a silver coloured Greddy radiator that came with the car from Japan, and it has no shroud on the fan.

This is a problem for the roadworthy as I cannot get one without having a fan shroud.

Does anyone know if the stock fan shroud fit to this radiator at all?

How can I get a shroud that fits this radiator?

Regards,

Gareth

P.S. spent about 20 minutes searching the forums but not 100% sure which keywords I should be searching for. I haven't found any useful results yet....

Not sure if it will fit, but I have a standard radiator shroud for sale in Sydney if you need one....

Hmm, I don't think that is going to help.

I should have mentioned the question relates to a roadworthy in Victoria.

So either I have to go to factory radiator with factory shroud to pass the roadworthy.

Or I need a fan shroud for the Greddy radiator...

i have the greddy/trust radiator for my gtr ( not installed yet) but i made sure before i bought it that it fit the standard shroud.

You should be ok to fit the stock shroud. I checked on the trust website and also confirmed with nengun

Yes, I found that radiator on Nengun as well, just trying to check if its the same setup as my one, here is an engine pay picture attached.

It also has a separate tank that you fill the radiator from.

I did have some higher resolution pictures but I can't find them right now....

Do you think we are talking about the same radiator?

It looks the same as http://www.nengun.com/trust-greddy/aluminium-radiator to me...which would solve the problem.

Anyone have a fan shroud for sale?

Anyone have a fan shroud for sale?

I bought the Greddy radiator as well, but put twin thermos on and got rid of the stock shroud and fan.

I have a stock shroud for sale, but I didnt read the car you had properly, the shroud is for a R33 Gts-t, can anyone confirm that this wil fit the GTR, or are there slight differences

Now that I know Greddy and Trust are the same company, I found the TRUST/Greddy manufacturer page (hosted off the TRUST website).

http://www.trust-power.com says:

" fan cover mod. required"

It also has a size of H631.8×W385×D48

So its probably going to require a custom fan cover.

I will have a look around and see what I can source.

Thanks for the help everyone.

If anyone else has a Greddy radiator like this please tell me if you did a shroud/fan cover....or different fans et cetera.

  • 2 weeks later...

Tthe R33 GTS-T (same as the R33 GTR) fan shroud fitted, it was a little wider than the radiator for some reason.

It needed minor modification, but was incredibly difficult to get into the tight engine bay and the huge steel braided hoses attached to the RHS top and RHS bottom of the radiator made things very difficult.

So its in and hopefully that will get me the roadworthy now.

There were no holes in the radiator to bolt anything in (some people suggested they existed, I didn't expect to find any)...so we made some brackets out of metal to hook from the bonnet area to the plastic.

So radiator's in and hopefully that will get me the roadworthy now.

Anyway else wondering if stock radiator shroud fits, it does, its just really damn hard to get in.

Regards,

Gareth

    • You see R34 GTRs listed for 200-300k are they really selling for these prices? Kinda seems like the same ones listed all the time. Even with R33 GTSTs looking at gumtree. You have an auto with a bitsa interior for 35k. Another one needs an engine rebuild and asking 24k. And then you have a stock in better than average condition for 45k. Nobody is ever going to pay these prices.
    • Only needed to pull out the seats, center console and gear shifter surround, took a weekend and a fair few beers. You get to look forward to finding all sorts of weird shit under the seats and carpet, I pulled out a Chinese dudes passport from 2003, 220 yen and a condom wrapper 😆
    • Well, turns out not a lot happened from back then to now, between life again, and working on 3 separate other cars (only one of which was mine, and will now be departing the household soon).   So I decided with the whole "don't go outside, it's a cyclone!" Turning in to being not a whole lot, I ventured down to the garage, found a couple of water leaks in the shed (the main one I've already fixed), and then ended up "stuck" as it started pouring rain, and I didn't want to walk back inside in the pouring rain. This meant I ended up taking a look at the Skyline, and trying to work out what past Matt had been upto. I retraced a few things out from scratch, added the rest of the power feeds in that I needed for the indicators, and headlights. Double checked I'd wired a few things up correctly (and worked out how I wired a few things to begin with), updated my sparse notes. Added one of the ground points. Oh, and got really really dusty, as the car is quite dirty. Wrote up quickly what should be left for me to do with the wiring too. Adding the below photos more for my records than anything else. I need to make myself a proper book for the car that details everything, and how I've done it, but for now, this is my records... The third image is my most important one for me, and I need to draw it out into a proper schematic eventually. The last photo is my re-written list, I'd have put it on the white board, except I had to take the white board down to fix one of the water leaks.
