NismoGirl
Right.. well heres the thing. As some of you know I got defected for my "Turbo Whistle" (BOV) and I went to Queensland Transport today to get it checked. We took the Blitz off last night and replaced the intercooler pipe with another standard pipe. Driving to work this morning it cut out at a set of lights. AND NO I didn't stall it I was engine braking and the revs just dropped and dropped. By the time I realised I couldn't rev it. Then when I stopped at the next set of lights the revs flutuated (sp?) between 500rpm and 1000rpm like Up down up down up down until I revved it. Question is. Is this from removing the BOV or is it something else. We had this problem when we first got the car but fixing the wire from the speedo to computer and the speed sensor working stopped it? Is removing the BOV whats causing this? This is the only reason I can think of because it's all we touched. But I can't understand by just removing the BOV and having the standard one on it would do this?? Please help. dAVE
with knowing absolutely jack ****... maybe an ecu reset could fix the problem. could be worth a try as the efford involved in doing this is pretty minimal. also, you sure u didnt get the pedals mixed up??? i know a few woman that have that problem Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/1906-problems/#findComment-35584 Share on other sites
NismoGirl
Nope.. I know where stop go and clutch is But I was looking out for cars and by the time I realised it was dropping.. it cut out. I wasn't expecting it to do it because it hasn't done it for ages. Kinda embarrasing too Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/1906-problems/#findComment-35589 Share on other sites

dAVE
disconnect your battery then leave something on the brake pedal to drain the power.. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/1906-problems/#findComment-35617 Share on other sites

PranK
Erin!!! Make sure all your IC pipes are VERY secure!! i had this problem when i blew an intercooler pipe off!! if you have replaced a piece of piping, this is very likely to be the prob-ola! Evil-Christian. NismoGirl
Hahah Thanks Christian Well andrew did them up so I might check them. The pipe we replaced it with looks smaller so this could damn well be the problem. I'll check it out. adam 32
yeh the fluctuating revs and eventual stalling is from running too rich probably so check the intercooler pipes, all intake plumbing and the BOV as well. also if you have an aftermarket one, make sure the std one is blocked off Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/1906-problems/#findComment-35877 Share on other sites
NismoGirl
Well we have just taken the aftermarket one off because of a defect. But before that we had both aftermarket and standard on there working fine. Car was running fine. But this afternoon we will swap the pipe back over and see what happens. In the next few weeks we will be getting a decent plumbback put on and removing both of the ones on there now.
