the alloy bushes jammed in the rear cradle like this serve the same purpose as the Noltec sub frame bushes.

Yes the end result is the same and NVH is very much the same anyway.

staying on tie rod topic lol

im in 3 minds

JJR

Tein

Kazama

i wanna know which ones would last a while and be best to use.

looks like JJR arent too bad, but would they last ?

hhmmm

also they look pretty dodgy lol

rocket and VPW keep the full range of replacement rose joints, i have a set of JJR ones in cats car but with QA1 ends as the originals lasted about 2 event's before gettng sloppy. I ran ikeya formula rod ends on my 180 with no dramas for 3 years....

A mate in QLD recently snapped his stock tie rods and then after "upgrading" also snapped his JJR tie rod in his drift A31. Not the best quality by the looks of it, currently replacing them with tein tie rod kit that includes tie rods/tie rod ends and spacers for more lock. rrp $359 through www.isc-performance.com.

Any photos of the failures? I am amazed he snapped the std ones! Bend maybe, but snap? The material grade they use normally means they are very ductile....this is assuming he didnt right off the entire side of the car...in which case not the fault of the std ones :)

Ive got kts ends on ikeya rods at the moment

daily driving havent noticed any wearing yet but they havent been on long

might end up getting the ones dave has as I think they would probably pass regency down here

whats the point of you fitting them ?

you getting bump steer

or you just need new ends

if you want to do the rears do it properly and swap in a s13 non hicas rear craddle less hassle in the long run

its what Ive done

I already have a diff in my rear with some bushes etc etc, so owes me too much money to swap to an S13 cradle. If anything i will go GTR that way i get all the alloy goodness, bigger shafts etc and then just get new shocks (again ;))

Yeh, i needed new ones so if im going ot be spending hundreds on Nissan OE, may as well spend a little less and get something that may end up better.

Im going to pull out my rears and make up some of my own :(

  • 1 year later...

There is also these ones http://www.tuneagent.com.au/public/merchan...Item.aspx?id=22, they also fit the R34's.

Australian mob plus they come with a 1 year warranty. Look to be of pretty good quality, and for the price you cant go wrong.

Just orderd some myself, so gonna see how they go.

    • Took it for a drive to do some logs, I’m pretty sure my voltage issues and electrical noise issues are gone, I’ve sent a log to Adam and am waiting to hear back with confirmation  att.K23U9eHyiEJxixH6y1__GQfuqK0EgIoDgQFTs9G8x_w.mp4   idle video from that day just because
    • Went looking at mine, reading off the tyre, presumably these are 1st week of 2003. Still hold air (I haven't had to pump them up in over 12 months!)     I couldn't quickly find the date on the front tyres, they were fitted around 2008 to the rims, so probably not quite as old, but they have a lot more dry rot cracks in them. Still hold air.
    • I am now intrigued to go check the dates on the tyres on my Skyline... We need a game of who has the oldest tyre still holding a car up, and successfully holding air (for longer than a 2 weeks I feel is successful air holding).   I feel your tyres may be beating mine
    • Ok, still waiting for a date to get the cams installed on the MX5, why so long, because MX5 Mania has received a few new sets of different cams with different specs for the MZR and are currently trialling them, and working out what is best for 2.5 "powers" with stock internals, in the end if I go bigger than the Kelford stage 1 cams I'll need to look at the valve springs  Hopefully I'll get the news on them next week As for the boot of the car getting fixed, I hopefully pick it up early next week, I was sweating on picking it up yesterday but, meh, it was not to be, so ne weekend cruising for me
    • Ok got some old tyres for you guys...my car has been sitting around un-driven for about 6 years now. I had it on the original rims with the shitty compliance tyres it got it with back in 2006, which were manufactured in 2004... Sidewalls eventually rotted and split open, obviously no air in them and the rims were holding the car up. Just swapped them with some 17" Work rims and tyres which are probably 10+ years old too but at least holding air
