That's my bet....nissan's gtr engineers and marketing people are watching this forum

they love every time we repost a pic or video

they love when we discuss the lap times.

sau is one of the biggest/most influential skyline forums in the world and I bet the guys are watching.

so.....if you are a nissan engineer, post in this thread. What do you guys like best about the new cars. What is a bit marginal? What do we need to do to increase the performance? What do we need to do to race them reliably?

c'mon, I know you are watching.....great work on the new car, it looks like it was worth the wait to me - 33 and 34 were a bit disappointing (so similar to 32) but it looks like the bar has really been raised the way the 32 did in 1989 which is great.

yeah will be good when japanese motoring goes to where it was back in the 90's - i.e gtr, supra, nsx, rx7, silvia etc etc

its Japanese Sportscar 2.0... 1.0 was back in the early 90's when the FD, R32, Z32, NSX, Supra, GTO etc were all sluggin it out.

cept now they all have yuppie inspired environmentally friendly emissions and gay safety standards compliance.

round 2... fight!

lol yeah true. but remember back in the 80s we went thru the same crap - charcoal cannisters came in, air recirc systems and those classic little intake warmer pipes that took hot air from next to the zorst into the intake. most cars lost 10-20% of their power but they got back up after a few years.

I noticed the r35 has 3 or 4 cats as well as 2 mufflers. zorst will be a heavy mofo and hard to replace.

I hope whichever japaneses parts houses that are still in business are working on them already lol. That and integrated turbo/manifolds for us. And new computers thanks.

its true, this forum is interesting. But I have my doubts they would read it. But If they did, they would probably read the .gtr.Uk site before this one, then possibly read this one. By rights they should be reading this one first, seeing as Australia has a more distinquished history with the GTR than the UK :(

And we'll be doing our best once we get our hands on them to remove it all and replace it with tree killing, panda raping and whale slaying wholesome modified fun! :D

round 2... fight!

Aaaaaraaaaarh!

    • I don’t really have any ideas how to set the timing on the CAS 😂, sounds like the top, sounds like it maybe misfiring as well as ticking,  got the box sorted 😌, must of been a air bubble on the clutch side
    • Use a 2' length of hose (that's 2 foot, not 2 inches) as a stethoscope to localise the source of the ticking. From cam covers? From exhaust or turbo manifold gasket? From injectors? From lower down in the engine? Etc. Use a timing light to set the timing. Put Redline Lightweight Shockproof in the box. It's not the very best thing for the box, but it will take a box that refuses to engage a gear with other oil, and make it engage a gear. I had to put it in when I installed the R33 box I have in my car. It would not select ANY gear when running. Smurf jizz made it work. That was >10 years ago and I still use it. I'm stuck with it now. Failing that - rebuild the box.
    • Well done Duncan. The fuel tank bulkhead lid is also in great condition (some of mine were stuffed). These are now out of production and good ones like that are becoming hard to come by.
    • Wow that's a steal, you've done well there.
