and tyre pressure i should just keep around 38psi all round?

depends on how hot it is. run less tyre pressure when it is hot and more when it is cold. you want to aim for about 40psi on street tyres when they are warm.

with semi slicks you want to aim for about 30 psi warm. a tyre pressure gauge is a handy tool. getting the tyre pressure right can make a big difference to your lap times.

You dont need a fire extinguisher for Wakefield, but its a good idea anyway. Just make sure you get one with a strong metal mounting bracket. Oh and learn how to use it :-)

Re: tyre pressures, you'll probably want to play with it a bit (though maybe not the first time out). I find if i have too much pressure it feels great as soon as you get out, but then goes off, whereas if its a little soft when you get out it hardens up a little (due to the extra temperature) and is about right.
