Andy,

The cruise was cool :O Dunno' about the endless 25km/h corners though  Your exhaust & induction noises sound sweet now mate :) I saw the adapters that the RPM boys had made for your GT-R on Wednesday, very nice, well priced too!

I'm glad I got the chance to give you a rolling run before you upgrade to a Power FC :uh-huh: cause I think after you've got one all I'll see is GT-R tail lights :O Especially after a launch

You'd be surprised how much difference a PFC would make to your car! The Nissan ECU fuel maps are very rich, rich ='s less power :O There's a few GT-R's running 11sec 1/4's with only basic mod's like exhaust/filters/boost increase & ECU! Damn AWD :)

Hehehe, I told the missus when I got home that I'd kept a genuine GT-R honest on the roll, she sleepily said "oh that's nice dear" I was like, "NO you don't understand how much of an achievement that is, oh never mind"

I can safely hand the standing start honours to you though, there's no way in hell I can get off the line like you can!

Cheers dude.

Yep I can vouch for that one Matt, "Torque" don't insure import Skylines AT ALL in SA! How do I know that? 'cause I was insured by them in NSW & when I moved they said "sorry but we can't cover you in SA" Both NSW & SA Torque branches said the same thing, ie Torque SA don't do import Skylines!

The Apexi power FC is the best modification you can do to a skyline by far. The difference it makes when tuned properly is awesome. To get the best out of it you really need to add a good exhaust & front pipe, slightly bigger injectors, & more boost, but even on it's own it will improve the power & torque delivery out of sight. When my R33 was stock(175rwkw) & we added FC, exhaust

& bigger intercooler we made 227rwkw at 1bar on the stock turbos. We didn't need the bigger intercooler for this power level but it came into it's own down the track when the HKS 2540s were added. The standard GTR intercooler is fine up to around 400hp(engine) and makes an excellent upgrade for a GTSt.

When I had a standard GTSt(110rwkw) & added a std GTR intercooler we made 165rwkw at 11psi.Any more boost than that and the std ECU kept cutting the fuel.I didn't get around to getting a Fuel Cut Defender before I sold the car(after having it for 2 years) but Mark Tilbrook told me that if we had fitted one and retuned the car it would easily have made close to 200rwkw!

Anyone having trouble with fuel cuts or surging when accelerating

should look into a FCD. While not as good as a Power FC, they are

much cheaper and will give much smoother power delivery.

The ultimate engine management system for any serious car is a

MoTec M800, but the price of the ECU & all the sensors required will give you a heart attack. For the money, the Apexi power FC

is a great investment and will be an asset to any modified import.

The most important thing is how it's tuned & I would recommend

Tilbrook Auto & Dyno with out any hesitation.

that's weird as nsw would prolly have a higher theft rate than SA and a higher accident rate.

but then does anything an insurance company do make sense anyway

Back to the topic of insurance ....

Try Just Cars Insurance 13 13 26

They quoted me to insure my (soon to come) 1996 R33 GTS25t, with me being a male rating 1 26y.o $1,215 (garaged in Northgate (= next to Oakden), SA).

Give them a try for sure!!!

btw for all of your amusement check out this quote from Suncorp Metway Insurance $26,066.17 per annum! (close to the value of the car!)

 I live right next door to you mate (Oakden) I'm also insured by Just Cars - $1,300ish, Rating 1, 29yo male, '94 GTS25t + mod's.

I "also" got a quote from Suncorp Metway that was something in the vicinity of ~$25,000! :)

Edit - Just checked my policy. It was $1,286, add rating 1 protection for a total of $1,321. Not bad considering the level of mod's that I've got listed in the policy.

Yep they are underwritten by AAMI. It actually says that in the JC ads they're playing on the radio ATM, but the ad says the full name instead of just AAMI.

It seems to help when you've got other vehicles insured with AAMI. We've got 2 cars with AAMI & the GTS25t with JC all at very good prices.
