180sx intake Plumbing

Hey guys, just starting to build up my 180sx

I've got sr20 Red top

Just finished installing k and n pod filter. but i got a question, one of the pipes ( about as round as a 10c or 20c peice ) this pipe seems to come off the turbo or exhaust and run up to a small box on the intake side of the motor, after running to this box it proceeds to connect back into the intake. while this is all fine if your running the standard air box. but after you change the airbox is it ok to just plug this pipe up like i did ?

Or is this pipe for wastegate or something important ?

It is for emmision control setup on the SR-20 engine.. Just plug it up... When i had my 180, it had all that disconnectd..

so your sure it wont do any damage ?

cause i justed plugged it up with an old spark plug

even better, how do i disconnect it ?

i plugged that hose up on a mates 180 and the car ran like shit

then put the stock air box back on and it went 100% better

so what would you guys suggest i do... maybe i could buy oneof those really small air filters and stick it on the end. ?

anyone else with experience. or any ideas ?

i know the hks pod filter comes with a hole and tube on the back of the filter which is only used on 180's this hole is blocked on s14/15's

alright, i called the place where i got the car tuned and they told me it was best not to block it up.

i was best to either drill a hole somewhere in the intake and feed it back into it somewhere. or alternatively, buy one of those really small air filters that you sometimes see.
